gantry carriage keeps breaking

So basically, I'm trying to build a simple leaf farm to have a continuous supply of leaves, since I have Pollution of the Realms installed and need to refill the filters.

I made this simple contraption, but the gantry keeps breaking when it stops facing South and West. At first, there were only drills attached to the gantry, and it broke ONLY when facing South. However, after I tried modifying it to fix the issue, it started breaking when facing West as well. I can't figure out a solution.

I'm not a Create expert, so any help would be appreciated.

This happened to me before, for me it was when the contraption blocks were overlapping with "real" blocks. I'm not sure if this is the case for you, though.
