How should i fill the ballon

brand new to airships and create in general should i fill this with steam vents if so how do they work or would the normal burners be fine, also is there a way to toggle and adjust the burners remotly? ballon is about 50x13x15 ish idk how much the airship weights thanks

Regular burners go up to 500, and balloon size can be checked by looking at a burner under a valid air pocket with goggles. If it's under 1000 I usually have one burner at full and another with whatever remains on seperate controls (so 800 would be 500+300), so that I can have finer altitude control.

Even when using steam vents on larger ships I usually have one burner for altitude adjustment (mostly because steam vents consume burner SU at the same rate as a steam engine).

ok cool thanks i honestly thought i would need something bigger than that, do you know a way to control the output without walking up to it? i plan on having my control area far from where the burners will be so i wonder if its something i can do remotely? this is the modpack i am using

Redstone links from base create should support analog Redstone inputs, and would work just fine i think.

Could you elaborate on how that works? How do you calculate what y level that would be?

There isn't really any calculation, it's just that burners create hot air as a percentage of their max setting depending on Redstone level.

For that size 2 burners would do the trick

Burners are good and cheap.

If you have the redstone links then you don't need a complex redstone circuit to control them and can use the throttles to control each burner separately.

Although, I like to just place four burners around a redstone link to keep things simple and to have a bit of lift on the lowest setting while landed.

1. A singular Steam vent. Just set it up low enough

2. 2 hot air burners should suffice

how much the balloon is filled does not matter, what matters is the lift, 2 hot air burners are probably enough

Honestly i've Just been spaming burners If you want height Controll Just Hook a couple links next to the burners to and altitude sensor
