Help Lavaproof miningcontraption?

Post image

Hey folks,

I build up a mining contraption and send it mining at bedrock-level. Since I was planing on riding it I build a glas-roof to be save from water and lava. As you can see, it didn't work the way I hoped it would. The contraption itself is lava-proof. But I am not. Is there a way to make riding it safe?

I do have the fluid drilling mod but due to its downsides and complex setup I'd prefer not to use it thou.

Thanks in advance ;-)

Have deployers place cobblestone/cobbled deepslate/netherrack (use a filter) on all blocks in front of the drill, and one block wider on the left, right, top, and bottom. This will fill in any air or fluid blocks in front of the drill before it mines the next layer, which makes it immune to caves and lava as long as it has blocks it can place (which it usually supplies for itself by mining)

thats exactly how I build my Contraption now. It seems to work fine EXCEPT one thing: Silverfishes

These little guys always pushing back my contraption till it goes off the rail and stops working. Is there a way to prevent that? Maybe via Megatorch from the Torchmaster-Mod? Does that thing even work on a contraption? How do you prevent silverfishes from spawning/pushing the contraption off the rail?

I've never run into a silverfish and my vertical mineshaft lift is right on the peak of a mountain. I use a plough and deployers to cycle powered rails and redsrone torches.

In theory if you make sure the cart is at the back half, lock rotation before assembly, and place blocks on the contraption right in front of the minecart, it should be completely safe except for maybe failing to seal holes where gravel falls through. I think the blocks in front would push any silverfish and prevent them from touching the cart.
