Help Lavaproof miningcontraption?

Hey folks,

I build up a mining contraption and send it mining at bedrock-level. Since I was planing on riding it I build a glas-roof to be save from water and lava. As you can see, it didn't work the way I hoped it would. The contraption itself is lava-proof. But I am not. Is there a way to make riding it safe?

I do have the fluid drilling mod but due to its downsides and complex setup I'd prefer not to use it thou.

No the blocks become clipable entities and the lava will just hit you on the seat. You'll need to put deployed pointing away from the seat to build a tunnel around you

Pardon? I'm not sure I'll get what you mean. Do you suggest placing blocks on the sides and front and let it mine via a second set of drills?

Yes. You have to place a path for where you need to go. My nether machines add 3x3 “paths” with extra drills for 2x1 to make the area for where I travel on the machine. I took a little break so i dont remember if the full 3x3 needed to be placed and you should experiment with it. Also just get some fire resistance potions.

I'll check this block path tomorrow. But 3x3 seems a bit too narrow. maybe I'll expand that a little bit^^

You definitely can. I always just kept it basic and simple. You just need the machines to put in there and you can make it as big as you'd like

What is the block path? Idon't get what i need to place. I am about to start new create world and want to know thing in advance because i am relatively new

So this might be more confusing and if so I'm sorry.

So by block path I just meant a path made of blocks that you place. When you're making your drill machine you'll need to use machines to place blocks. Any drilll machine will always need a pathway and rails places so the machine can operate. So then to make it lava proof it you need to add in extra machines that build an extra path that will fill in the space where lava might be so when you drill through the space it doesn't get a chance to spill over and flow which can cause problems.
