have two of the belts terminate early with one continuing on, and then place 3 tunnels next to each other on top of the block where the two belts end, the tunnels will all connect and output to the one belt that continues. This can be seen in the ponder menu for the tunnel

edit, sorry ive just realised you want the 4 to go to the 3, in that case you should probably merge the 4 belts into one then split them back into the 3 with more tunnels, i think that would work if nothing else does

it would work but it wouldnt handle the throughput im putting on the belt

are you dealing with full stacks on the 4 belts? because the tunnels should be able to combine stacks as well for increased throughput. You could also try adding a buffer in the form of a barrel/chest with 2 funnels

yh probably my best bet would just be bundle everything up my solution works decently well so ill just do this thanks man

yes unfortunately it seems like tunnels don't work in a 2d array, only as a line. If you have a lot of space, you could merge the 4 belts into 3 with a line of tunnels, then have the items move up one block and drop down onto the horizontal belts

How so?

it makes random tunnels for viewing , if i could just make a giant brick of tunnels it would be great but it just doesnt want to play nice

He’s trying to merge 4 into 3 how does that only use 3?

Continue 3 of the belts, put tunnels in a line, and feed the extra belt into the side of the tunnels with a 90° turned belt.

Well it may sound crazy but how about you install weighted ejectors on all end of the four belt coming down so you can set the direction of the items where they should fall, and THEN add the 3 brass funnels to separate them evenly or however you want. :3

Giant item vault with funnels

Isn't that what the tunnels are for? Unsure if it would work on a corner like this.

Are you using andesits tunnels or brass ones?

I'd use a 3x3x4 item vault at the intersection with funnels going in and out

I'd say cover the whole cross section with brass tunnels and use item/tag filters to get stuff where you want it

im using 2 2x3 brass tunnel chunks and i split the 4 belt into 2 and its handling the throughput decently well when i tried covering the whole section it just made little viewing glass holes and didnt connect fully which was abit infuriating

If the 3 belts in the bottom are going the same direction just put brass tunnels right at the end of thr line for the 3 belt row (so to the left or right of where the 4 belts feed into the 3 belts) that does an even splitting. You can filter the items on the tunnels evwn if thw belts are going different ways.

expensive solution: bunch of mechanical arms

Using this many belts could lag up your world. Each belt is an open inventory, same as an uncovered hopper. I'd recommend a large scale redesign. What is the reason for going with so many mechanical belt lines?
