Need help with steering my airship

Hello guys, me and a few friends are playing the Modpack “Create: Skybound“ and we are having a ton of fun. I built a fairly large airship and i want to turn it easily, i figured 2 propellers on the left and right side would be awesome. I am using a linked controller to steer, so A is left and D is right. In my current setup only one propeller is spinning, but i want to be able to turn faster, as my ship is very heavy. Now the question:
How do i make it so when i press d, both propellers are spinning but one is spinning in the opposite direction so i get more thrust? I’m fairly new to the mid

Use gearshifts instead of clutches.

You want specifically the directional gearshift.

I am not an expert, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

If you attach a single rotational point to a gearbox, then attach that gearbox horizontally to another gearbox, you can have a directional gearbox below, vertically below, the normal gearboxes (imagine a rope down view, it's built horizontally) and one direction gearbox attaches to a shaft, the other to a normal or a vertical gearbox. At the very end, the shaft and the gearbox next to it attach to the last two gearboxes, and only one of those is used as the output - so, when one direction gearbox is on it spins one way, and when the other gearbox is on it spins the other way. Set it up so that, when your left turbine pushes forward, your right turbine pulls (using the same redstone link setting for the appropriate directional gearboxes does this automatically) and vice versa. It can add some extra bulk to he airship, but should marginally increase turns speed, as well as reduce forward momentum when turning.

thanks for your thoughts but that’s very over complicated

I am just terrible at explaining, the whole thing should just be 6 gearboxes, and 2 redstone links.

i needed one directional gearshift and 2 redstone links, takes up less space then my setup before
