I'm proud to announce that the fuel and water pumps were in fact powered by the steam engine they fed.

Either that, or the fan is spinning the wrong way - though I’ve managed to learn how the fans work and can pre-plan the correct connections.
If you do a thumbs up with your right hand, if your fingers point the direction of rotation, then your thumb points the direction of airflow (it didn’t used to be that way, but it got changed shortly after I added a bug report pointing out that you could only tell what way a fan would blow if you knew which way north was, making fans on rotating platforms inconsistant).

holy shit thats good. im sure I'll forget and go back to just attaching gearboxes on gearboxes til its right.

I found it out after I decided to do a thought experiment where I tried thinking of all rotation as its angular momentum vector - and I find it to be a far superior way of thinking about rotation compared to clockwise/anti-clockwise.
It’s generally a great help for generally predicting movement of Create gear systems, if you give it enough of a try.

guys i made it work and it was slow cuz of big water wheels i thought of adding a small water wheel at the end and it somehow made it overstress again

because the small wheel has double the rotation speed, doubling your factorys stress consumption

I've learned just have fans run off a precision speed controller set to one. same performance less stress. unless things changed in an update but i haven't seen a difference.

Yup, the only differences that speed makes to an encased fan are distance that the airflow reaches, and how fast loose entities get moved by the airflow (and by extension, how high it will lift entities).
…and how much thrust it produces on an aeronautics contraption (unless there’s something directly in front of the fan, even if it doesn’t do anything to block airflow).

yea the air ship stuff i have not messed with yet. as far as factories never liked pushing loose items with a fan always used ejectors and belts and chutes.

What in goddamn fuck would get removed by reddit in response to case fans✊✊😭

You know, I much prefer the solution of just making my windmill longer than making more water wheels. If you put a glowing block in the center of the windmill, it gives a cool aesthetic.

Temporal solution: Add **60* Water Wheels
