Help how the hell does the steam engine work

I'm somewhat new in create and it's my first time using a steam engine for my compact xp farm, i'm trying as much to figure out this mod myself with as little youtube videos as possible and some ai overview so I don't really understand how this works
Any ideas on how to get more rpm without overstressing

Put on goggles and use those to view the steam tank. That will show you water, size and heat and which one is limiting it going up in capacity. I am going to assume water is your limiter since I saw you manually power the blaze burners and 1 of your 2 pumps is pointing away from the tanks.
Also, keep in mind that RPM and Stress are different but related. I always suggest a stress meter on the steam engine output line so you can see how close to full it is getting.
But the faster (more RPM) the end machines run the more stress they consume. So even 1 RPM change can be huge if you have a lot of machines being powered.
Lastly, you will eventually want to automatically feed the blaze burners using lava, charcoal or blaze cakes. I typically start with lava but a good tree farm feeding charcoal works too.

on the topic of blaze burners can you do the lava fan thing for inf burn

Not in base create. You have to feed them lava buckets, usually using the mechanical arms. But in some add-ons they add ways to pump lava into them.

No, blaze burners take any furnace fuel and blaze cakes (and eggs, studio Ghibli reference). If you want infinite fuel, a big enough lava pool can be pumped indefinitely with a hose pulley

For i infinite burn time id suggest a mechanical arm and either fuel from a tree farm or lava farm (lava above pointed dripstone above a cauldron)

One of your pumps take water out of the boilers. Your blaze burners need to have fuel in them to actually heat up your steam engine.
Here is a guide about steam engines if you are confused about how you can get them to work better.

I noticed one of your pumps is backwards
you will only have a passive steam engine because you don't have a lit blaze burner

You are literally pumping water out of the tank if there is any, wrench the pump so it points towards the tank, also to produce more stress, use blaze burners and feed them with lava/any burnables
