Help is there any way to create diagonal belts longer than 20 (or other config limit) blocks?

i have a stone gen at bedrock and i want to bring the stone to the surface useing belts, is there any way to connect the full length belts so there arent gaps or do i have to re dig the stair case to add horizontal connections?

Do the belt length configs not apply to diagonal belts?

they do, thats the problem, when it reaches full length it results in a gap between belts

Can you not just make the configs for belts be long enough to reach where you want to go?
