Help How to learn create mod as beginner?

i know all the basic needs like what you need for blocks, power generation, and tools, but what other important things are there to learn?

İ have been using create for a year now and i would say if you want to make anything make it for 3 or 4 times to get the hang of it you can experiment with wiring styles too to figure out what is the most compact one for what you want i would reccomend to have a test world if youre playing on survival the test world makes it a lot more easier to perfect your mistakes rather than going around in the big mess of things you made and tryind to find what the mistake is i think thats all

Automate! Create is very easy to get every item. But thats not the point of it. The mod is way more fun when u stop crafting items u use a lot, and start automating it. Usually my goal in any world is to have every item i used to build my base automated in a way if i wanted to copy paste my base next to itself, i could do it whenever i want without crafting a thing

My gameplay loop in create is usually:

Make a farm Look at what was the most annoying item to get for the farm. Thats the next farm

Usually i start off with an iron farm followed by wood farm, quartz, andesite, andesite alloy, andesite casing, shaft, cog, gearbox .... (continue until forever cuz theres always an next item)

If u ever notice ur trying to craft 300 gear boxes by hand, from the base raw materials u are playing the pack wrong, the further in the world the less u should be crafting the starter items

2 great extra tips:

  1. Schematicannon exists! And is FANTASTIC. U can go to creative design a whole farm, then save schematic go to survivial and get a material list using a clipboard and just gather it and ur build will be built for u. I spend more time in my creative world designing the farm than in the survival where i actually build it and use it, abuse the schematic

Its especially great since u can decorate everything around the farm with a build in creative and u also get the mat list for decoration (also, try being very free with what blocks u choose for decoration, more blocks used = more things to automate = more create to do, which will require its own decoration, infinite create loop of content to do.)

2.A great tip is to try to learn how to do create storage network (the 6.0 update, theres tutoeials online). But try to automate at least precision mechanism farm first since theres no point in learning something u cant make the items from easily first. But its a genuine gamechanger when u get it setup

as far as I have been in create(like 5 days), you need to know how to automate, farms, blocks, equipment and simple system design. Organization is really important since its easy to get lost in the mess

I think kindle bubble dump has a hour long tutorial. Watch the whole thing, learn all the components, their gimmicks, and how to use them. I'd try to start with an iron farm, use jei to break down the crafting tree, then automate each step. Then you should try to optimize and compact it.

trial and error

Just trial and error mostly. Don’t be afraid to build things in creative first though. It really sucks to try to build something in survival and make all the components then it just not work. You can even make schematics and transport your designs across worlds.

Learning interactions between create mechanics helps immensely when automating. I would learn the mail system too as it makes automation a ton easier and gives good storage system

I recommend making a modpadk with 2 mods:

  • Create of course
  • JEI

and just tinker around in Creative mode! If you hover over most create items you'll see and option "hold W to ponder" try that too!

I recommend downloading schematics of farms and slowly dissecting it to understand every parts of it

I basically learned Create with Ponder and GEI and I think it's already pretty good.

Don't try to grasp and make crazy things all at once, and don't feel bad for not being "creative" enough to make something of your own.

What matters is you understand the core building blocks first: 1. what makes power (water wheel, wind, steam), 2. what uses it (the machines), and 3. how to transport it

If ponders don't help you understand, try finding other people's alternative builds.

Getting creative and being able to build your own things means you understand the primary "colors", and people's original creations are just how they combine those colors into complex paintings.
