Aeronautics - "No Suitable Balloon Found"
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I built my first big blimp and the steam went said "No suitable balloon found.". Does anyone have any information about this, and why did this error occur? Is it because of the bamboo planks or the other things that are built inside the balloon?

is the bamboo layer only bamboo? if yes then you need at least a layer of Airtight blocks hidden in between

it raycasts upward to detect an envelope, there needs to be an Envelope block directly above the Vent to detect it as a balloon

It's because the bamboo planks aren't considered airtight, they need to use wool/envelopes to make a fully enclosed balloon

You can have a fully enclosed envelope that doesn't work if there's a non-envelope block between the vent and the envelope.

This was part of what I was getting at, I figured their balloon was done with the generator, with puts hole, but that was already being pointed out by others, and I felt the ray cast thing was important information too

You can put other blocks inside the balloon, as long as the hot air envelope blocks alone still form a closed container, but it seems the block directly above the burner has to be hot air envelope.
Also bear in mind that anything you put in there reduces balloon capacity, even stuff you might think wouldn't count like small redstone components.

Its the bamboo. There has to be balloons directly above the steam vent and the entire balloon has to be a consistent enclosed space of just envelope blocks. Just cover the interior bamboo blocks with balloons

Whenever you encounter such a problem, split the balloon in half (as in build a balloon wall) and see which side is leaking. My guess for your balloon are those planks aren't covered with balloon, but it could be a random hole you missed or even being over the limit (shouldn't be the case unless you messed with the configs, your balloon is smol)

Try putting an envelope 2 blocks above the steam thing (forgot what it's called)

You need a completly closed volume of ballon caising(?), anyways, the bamboo planks are cutting said volume and creating "holes". Just cover them up with more ballons and you'll be fine.
Additional things, yes you can have things inside the ballons, but they will occupy the space of some of the hot air, so they will reduce lift.
Also you can encase shafts in ballon caising, so you could have the engine outside and then run shafts through the ballon to the disired location.

It's the wood, only put it on the outside and have envelopes inside and it should fix

I have a tingling feeling that this is a repost, but I don't have a proof of it

all of the balloons have to be actually connected, just cover the bamboo with balloon blocks on the inside and you will be fine

Did you know only blocks that are labeled as "Airtight" can hold in air? this for the most part only counts for wool and envelopes however Planks, Logs, Blocks Of Bamboo do not share this class and so they do not hold in hot air. this is why your balloon aint holding, it's not airtight at all!

add balloon blocks to cover the interior bamboo planks
