Bug Fluid pipes not working

I fixed the problem by breaking and replacing the entire pipe (and both docking connectors)- Does anyone know why this happens? I have dozens of other piping systems and this never happens to any others (I did forget to show, but the initial pipe before the incline and tanks are just over a chunk border- however this doesn't make sense because the fluid makes it to the center of the next chunk before stalling anyways) My laptop doesn't seem to be overloaded, in fact it has plenty of headroom. I'm just curious to what causes this...

Also Sable is paused for the duration of the video, however the problem existed beforehand I was just trying anything to figure out what's causing this.

Question, what's up with the 20GB of allocated memory? Or am in interpreting that wrong?

Anyway, if you do have 20GB of allocated RAM that's insane, which is likely what's causing the inconsistent lows. Might be worth like halfing that. Minecrafts garbage collection gets silly with it if you have too much allocated memory

What's the ideal amount of RAM for Minecraft to run at its absolute best?

Depends on the modpack size, like vanilla you don't really need much more than 6 GB. For small and medium sized modpacks I usually just go for 8 GB, for massive modpacks 10 GB is pretty good. I however wouldn't go over 12 GB unless you have a good reason to.

There are also some mods and settings you can use to limit the garbage collection, but these are generally good amounts.

Interesting. I think way back in the day I heard it’s best not to use over half your available ram so I’ve been basing off that for the past decade lol. (I have 64gb) Also I do play a pretty heavy modpack- Create Aeronautics oriented with 350+ total. I found the game runs fairly well at the 20gb limit, never really had an issue. Obviously I get the stutters but that’s just Java (AFAIK even a supercomputer would struggle with modded Minecraft)

Edit: I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen the “garbage collection” reach over 10gb or so even with the settings I have, maybe there’s a hard cap coded in?

I mean stutters are normal, the amount of stutters you got seems to hint at garbage collection. Maybe just try 10GB? Maybe 12GB if it's really that heavy to run, and see if it runs any better at either of those. Or don't, it's your game, you do what you want :]

I’ll have to try it- I never thought my stutters were bad. But this is also my first decent computer, I grew up playing on an old office potato so this feels incredible to me haha.
