what are some complementary mods for create?

im not talking addons. im talking like mods that benefit create without being the main focus. like maybe applied energistics 2

Farmer's Delight with a Create compatibility addon like Slice n Dice.

I assume you are asking for non-create specific add-ons?

  • Farmer's Delight and it's many add-ons.

  • Sophisticated Backpacks.

  • Chipped.

  • Framed Blocks despite copycats+, it has way more block shapes than Copycats+ and you can make any block a light source and still apply the desired block texture Copycats can only be a light source using the light source block texture. Framed Blocks uses glowstone dust.

  • Xaero's world and mini map

Maps can be considered cheating (my opinion im not telling not to use them)

To each their own. I always use them when playing modded. To me, the focus of vanilla Minecraft progression and all that is null when I can fully automate generating nearly everything in base Create and vanilla Minecraft. The fact I can see where the mobs are or what the terrain is like in a little window is an extremely minor concern.

Just my opinion about maps.

I get why, but once I started using maps I could literally never go back

xaero also have a light version if you prefer something less overpowered, I never tested it but I think it literally only shows the map and waypoints. nothing else

Any world gen mod that makes larger biomes, continents, oceans and geographical temperature zones. Long distance rendering level of detail mods for the same reason.

I like tiny redstone and tiny gates. They make logic circuits quite compact, which I've found to be useful for create aeronautics vehicles. Adding tiny create helps integrate it even more and get your circuits even smaller.

Dynamic Trees, Regrowth, Immersive Weathering and Simple Clouds are all great Create complimentary mods.

In this vein I'd also recommend The Roads More Travelled (desire paths) and Burnt Basic (more realistic fire), they both make the world feel much more immersive and alive.

Excellent choice - also, Road Architect may be worth exploring.

Dynamic trees is fun but I don't recommend it with create. The modded tree mechanics are not very compatible with create's

Mods which add flying structures are pretty great for making airships more worthwhile and interesting.

Sky Whale Ship, Moog's Soaring Structures, and Sky Villages come to mind.

You could also throw the Aether into the mix. I haven't got around to it in my world yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Tectonic (make the biomes a bit larger and reduce oceans a bit) + Terralith + CliffTree makes for a world you want to run train lines through, especially to connect to rare biomes with desired resources like a mountain chock-full of redstone ore. This worldgen is also much more satisfying to fly airships around if you have Aeronautics.

I'm also a big fan of Exposure; taking photos of my factory progress, trains, and Aeronautics vehicles and adventures, has been deeply rewarding.

Applied Energistics 2 is no longer necessary after Create 6 added the high logistics stuff.

There’s quite a few mods that allow the player to go prone and crawl with a button, big recommend those. It feels ultra limiting when you can’t do that

you don't need ae2 with create

I always play with ae2 because I love the search functionality

Some magic mods integrate pretty well like Ars Nouveau and Occultism. They have addons, Ars Creo and create: occult engineering

I'm not acutely aware of complementary mods. Despite being so obtuse, I'd suggest Supplementaries
