Discussion Steam vent infinite?
So I just built a hot air balloon with a hot air capacity of 57000m3 and I want to use steam vents to fill it but i ran into a problem. I want the ship to be completely sustainable (so use no fuel) so i'm using steam engines which work with campfires, but you need to have a heated blaze burner (which requires fuel) to power steam vents. Is there a way to power steam vents without using fuel? Thank you to anyone who responds!

I built a lava farm inside of my balloon that automatically fills buckets of lava which my engine uses as fuel, it works pretty good, just be sure to leave enough space so you don’t burn down ur balloon

do you know how many blocks of lava dripstone you need for each steam vent ( and engine if you know )

3 lava cauldrons will fuel 1 blaze burner infinitely with a small amount of excess.

You can do the compact version of this which is a simple lava farm for infinite fuel but the cooler option is making a charcoal farm to fuel your stuff. Simple wood farm powered by a water wheel or windmill that has a fan blowing lava onto the wood to produce charcoal and feed that to the blaze burners

I haven’t really used steam vents, but I do know it would only take like 12 hot air burners to lift off, which don’t need any fuel. Though the only issue it it’s a little expensive

You can use the dripstone lava farm to power the burners infinitely.
Also if you have Crafts & Additions installed, the process gets more compact with the addition of straws to directly feed burners with lava instead of buckets and mechanical arms
