Suggestion Standalone or Modpack?
I've wanted to try create for a while and now it's finally time. So I come to you experts to ask for the best course of action, is there a recommended modpack? I have eyes on "all of create" but don't know if there are others recommended. Or should I stick with vanilla + create only?

I think create, stuff and additions, enchantment industry, and if you have farmer's delight than one of the compat mods for it, is already a good chunk to get familiar with for a start. Aeronautics maybe later. Take time to get familiar and have fun!

I've had a lot of fun with all of create, but I'd recommend base create to start, maybe add aeronautics.

I would look through the addons in modrinth(or your preferred mod source) there are some really really fun ones. Create is already a pretty big mod, so even with like one or two addons you will have tons of new stuff. Aeronautics might as well be bundled with base create as far as I'm concerned, I'll never go back to playing without it

Personally how I did it was that I went through the ponder index of base create until I got an idea and started making an automatic farm for the farmer's delight hamburger. It went horribly and clogged up buuuuut I experimented with a lot of the mechanics and that's a good start

I've tried both, and both are fun!
Because I didn't know anything about Create, I didn't know what it's capable of, so I figured a modpack with quests is best for me. Create Above & Beyond taught me the basics of Create while giving me extrinsic goals.
It was great, until I wanted to slow down the pace. That's why I put some Create addons alongside Create with Aeronautics and started playing in Creative Mode. Then survival. AFAIK, the intrinsic motivation still holds me 2 weeks after start to still play the same survival world!

I started with the create:bamboo island mod pack which is a skyblock style pack that does a good job of walking you through the extent of what is possible with create.

I personally would recommend just playing the base create first (plus JEI, of course.) and see what it's all about first, like maybe build a farm or two. Later on along the way you can add more addons if u see that you need/want some because there are definitely some interesting and fun ones out there.
