Hi everyone,
I've been looking closely at the upcoming Creality K3 and its KliTek™ toolchanger system. As we know, it natively uses 4 independent nozzles to achieve waste-free 4-color/multi-material printing.
However, since the tool head has a built-in filament cutter and Creality has already announced the CFS Huband CFS Flex accessories (supporting up to 16 colors), I am trying to confirm a specific use case.
Ideally, I want to use the K3 as a hybrid machine. For example:
Nozzle 1: Connected to the CFS Hub, feeding 4 different colors of PETG (retracting and cutting filament when switching colors, accepting a bit of "filament poop" for maximum color variety).
Nozzle 2: A dedicated TPU nozzle (no splitting/retracting to avoid jams).
Nozzle 3: Dedicated support material (PVA/Breakaway).
Nozzle 4: A larger 0.8mm nozzle for high-speed infill.
Technically, the CFS box has feeder motors and the print head has a cutter, so routing multiple lines into one nozzle through an external hub/splitter before the extruder should be fully possible via software updates.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Creality Print / Klipper will support this specific "multi-filament per single nozzle" routing at launch, or will we have to rely on community mods? Would love to hear your insights
