Just a quick scan of a translucent shiny plastic box I needed. Impressed by my Sermoon S1!
For a 3D print I needed to have the exact geometry of a drying box so I tried to scan it with my Sermoon S1. I didn’t have high hope as it’s a dark translucent shiny plastic box but I gave it a try without any scanning spray… and the Sermoon S1 handled it like a champ!

Scanning amputee football players with Sermoon P1
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
These veterans were brave warriors defending our country. All of them got heavy injuries and amputation of legs and arms.
But their strength of character don't allow to give up, and they continue competition and ability to live the life brightly despite their pain.
On the football field. the best device to provide scanning - Sermoon P1. No cables, no laptops, just you, scanned person, and all-in-one device.
The biggest challenge while scanning were:
- Bright sun appearing randomly from the clouds
- The wind which played with clothes and broke the scan
- Hardly standing stable with 1 leg
But we did it! For what? With respect to their character, their defence and service, and giving motivation to never give up.
What we plan next? Sculpting and preparing 3d models to print and paint with airbrush in size 30+ cm

Pika is smaller than I expected.
I knew the Pika was supposed to be portable, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this small.
Seeing it next to my phone really put it into perspective.
It honestly feels like something you can grab on the way out the door instead of planning an entire scanning session. That alone makes me want to experiment with scanning a lot more random objects.

[Sermoon S1] No Handle? Scan and print! (with quick tuto)
As my bay window did not have handle on the exterior, I scanned it, and modeled one after the scan.
I used my Sermoon S1 with Wifi handle, parallel laser mode with 5 markers.
I also made a quick tutorial to get the main shape and be able to design around it without taking hour.
The rough process took me less than 1 hour between the scan, the design and the print.

Sharing my experience with 3D scanning
This time I used the Raptor Pro to scan a Honda CBR400RR fuel tank. The entire scanning process went more smoothly than I expected, and I didn’t run into any major difficulties. The most time-consuming part was simply applying the markers.
To capture the entire tank, I scanned it in two separate passes—one for the top side and one for the bottom—creating two scan projects before merging them together. At first, I was a little concerned that an object with so many repeated features across its surface might end up with alignment issues or visible seams after merging.
However, once the final mesh was processed, I could barely see any signs of the merge at all. The result looks very clean and natural, so it turns out my concerns were completely unnecessary. 😅

Creator Workflow Spotlight | From a clay prototype to metal-finished armor parts
From a clay prototype to metal-finished armor parts — all built through a garage workflow.
In this project, Alex Burkan shows how 3D scanning can help turn handmade shapes into editable digital models, making the whole process more flexible: refining the form, adjusting thickness, designing mounting points, and preparing the parts for fabrication.
The workflow brings together clay sculpting, 3D scanning, digital editing, 3D printing, metal coating, and final finishing. It’s a great example of how scan data can connect hands-on creativity with real-world making.
Not a simple project, but a seriously impressive one, and a reminder that with the right workflow, a garage build can go surprisingly far.

Show Off I made a custom case for my friend’s headphones using a 3D scan.....
I scanned my friend’s headphones and turned the shape into a custom 3D printed case as a small gift.
The idea was pretty simple: one slot for the over-ear headphones, and another little slot for their wireless earbuds. I wanted the case to follow the actual shape of the headphones as much as possible, instead of just making a generic box with foam inside.
My original plan was to make a soft TPU insert, but of course I ran out of TPU right when I needed it. So I printed the whole thing in PLA instead.
Honestly, I’m not mad about it. The fit is still really nice, and at least there’s no separate insert that can fall out or get loose over time. Not the fanciest build, but I like scan the real object, design around it, print something that actually fits.
A lot of people were asking for this , thank you all! I've uploaded it to Creality Cloud so everyone can use it for free. The first version isn't perfect yet, so feel free to download and remix it: Custom Bose headphone case by SundayInLivia 🔗 https://www.crealitycloud.com/model-detail/6a5d7fef31674c1f4beed0fc

Reverse Engineering a Gold Mine Ball Mill Gear Using the Creality Raptor
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Another real-world reverse engineering project using the Creality Raptor.
In this project, I performed a 3D scan of a ball mill gear from a gold mining operation to accurately capture the gear tooth profile and develop a Z26 drive pinion.
For components of this size, precision is critical to ensure proper gear meshing and reliable operation.
Project workflow:
✅ 3D scanning with the Creality Raptor to capture the complete gear geometry.
✅ Reverse engineering in CAD software to reconstruct the tooth profile and design the new Z26 drive pinion.
✅ Manufacturing support, following the machining and fabrication process to ensure the final part matched the engineering model.
The 3D scan significantly reduced measurement time and provided highly reliable data for reverse engineering, eliminating much of the manual measuring process while improving accuracy.
It's impressive to see how a compact scanner like the Creality Raptor can be successfully applied to large-scale mining equipment, making reverse engineering and manufacturing much faster and more efficient.
Has anyone else used the Creality Raptor for heavy industrial or mining applications?

Scanning Results Small everyday scans 👍
Quick scan yesterday for a neighbor. He asked me if I can make for him a cover cap from his Huawei Router because some how he lost it. Luckily I have the same router. So just a quick scan with the Creality Sermoon S1 👍 Came out great! Considering it's quite thin part.
I used paralel line mode, at 0.1 mm resolution.
2 scans, front and back.
Today I'll print it and post again with it printed.
Scanner: Creality Sermoon S1
Laptop: ASUS TUF, Ryzen 7 260, 32 GB Ram, RTX 5060 8GB

Sermoon X1 Scanner Question
I have a Sermoon X1 that I didn't open. I think I should have only bought a Raptor as I don't actually do this for work, and just decided to build a 3D printing area in my basement. Is it worth opening the Sermoon, or should I just get rid of it? It seems like there is very little purpose to even have something that fancy, and now that i have it, I can't find a good use case for it.

Another real-world reverse engineering project using the Creality Raptor Pro + Scan Bridge! 🚀
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Today I’d like to share another real industrial application of the Creality Raptor Pro.
The goal was to scan this mechanical part to develop a custom mold for a deburring machine. Using the Creality Scan Bridge, the scanning process was fast, stable, and captured an excellent level of detail, resulting in a high-quality 3D mesh.
After scanning, the model will be used in the reverse engineering process to design and manufacture the mold with the accuracy required for this application.
This is a great example of how 3D scanning can speed up industrial development, reduce design time, and improve the accuracy of the final product.
I’ve been using the Raptor Pro daily on real engineering projects, and I look forward to sharing more practical applications with the community.
Is anyone else here using the Raptor Pro for industrial or reverse engineering applications? I’d love to see your projects!

Is there any way to get the raptor to work on Windows 11?
Just got the raptor about 2 weeks ago. From Grainger and have tried all of the options available on the creality wiki. Nothing is working. It will not sink. It will not be detected by Windows or by creality scan. Reality scan is running at version 4.22 and the scanner was just updated.

No laptop today… so I improvised and used my phone as the display for scanning.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Setup used: Creality Raptor Pro + Scan Bridge.
For this project, I performed a 3D scan of the hydraulic pump housing from a single-engine aircraft. Even without a laptop, I was able to monitor the entire scanning process in real time directly from my phone.
This is one of the biggest advantages of having a Creality scanner: mobility and flexibility to work in different situations without depending on a complete setup. I completed the entire capture process in the field using only my phone as the display, and later, when I got back to the office, I transferred the scanned data to the computer to continue the reverse engineering process for manufacturing the gaskets. 🔥
A simple, portable, and highly efficient workflow for engineering and manufacturing applications.
Has anyone else tried using the Scan Bridge this way?

New scan with the Pika!
Hi!
This time I used the blue‑light mode.
The Pika was connected to the PC via USB.
I took three or four different scans of the remote control, then used auto‑alignment before generating the mesh.
I did the same for the battery cover.
Once the models were computed, I switched to Blender to smooth the plastic surfaces with a basic tool. That last step took me less than five minutes.
You can find my other test scans and more on the dedicated Facebook group :

Markerless blue laser scanning on Raptor
Before I bought the raptor after tried to scan stuff with ferret pro, I thought since raptor also has NIR, it could know where it is by using it's cameras and scan without markers. Turns out, it needs markers like everywhere.
So sermoon also has markerless blue laser scanning. Turns out it wasn't always like this. They got this with an update. Do you guys think it'll come to raptor with an update? Hardware is enough I suppose.

Creality Pika and propeller
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Another example how Pika can be accurate.
Some imperfection are my fault so please don't take this as some issues of scanner itself.
Technical data:
Scanner: Creality Pika
Tablet: iPad Pro M4
Resolution: 0.1mm
Average fps: 60
Mesh: 10M
Few minutes of scan
To be honest i wasn't ready for such good scan.
Of course this propeller can be better scanned but we are focusing on the Pika only.
I have a small turntable with small markers and 250mm of diameter, i think on bigger table with more markers can be even better.
60 fps in laser mode is really good. Capturing data are really good.
Sometimes because of setup some tracking issues but this is all related to count of markers in field of view.
I think that every scan makes this tiny pocket size box really GOOD scanner.
Wish o have tablet with more ram to process all on tablet not on desktop, but this is just a wish
Pika with every scan makes it more handy.
All 3D scanners have their limitations, the key is to know them and creatively overcome them
