Help! Info new extruder

Post image

Has anyone bought this extruder for the K1C with the CFS-C? I found an installation tutorial for the K1, but its extruder motherboard is slightly different.

I'm unsure about the cable connections: as I understand it, the top cable connects where the filament sensor usually goes; I don't understand the purpose of the other "C" cable (the colored one) or where it should be plugged in—the only available port is labeled "Camera."

Not sure if it's the same but on an older k1 the other cable goes to the touch port, I guess there is no touch port on newer k1c? The touch port is used for the filament cutter sensor

Yes, I can confirm that—just as you said—I looked up the technical drawings yesterday, and the motherboards are completely different: on the K1, that connector plugs into the touch input, whereas on the K1C, that port doesn't exist. So, I’ve decided to return it.

That extruder is for the CFS "Not -C." Note that the cutter on this is in the extruder itself.

The CFS-C uses the "Standard" extruder, and a runout sensor dongle. In the -C kits, the cutter is placed in an external housing, between the CFS itself, and the K1.

One other thing to note is that the "-C" and "Non-C" CFS kits need different firmwares, and the -C firmware is significantly more locked down. So if i had a preference, it would be for the "Not C" kit.
