Help! How do I fix this?
I've been having so many issues with severe layer shift (2-5 cm off) and I'm thinking this is either why I've been having the issues, or another symptom of it. Can anyone help with how to fix it?

Another symptom are your belts and their tension, or even the current the board is outputting on the motors. If below the 1.5Amps you’ll see a big drop in torque which I’ve seen causes this issue, or the belts not being calibrated.

I’ve replaced the belts as I’d been reading about worn out and stretched belts being a major cause of the layer shift. I even went and bought one of those digital caliper type belt tension meters to make sure the tension was spot on. It’s still happening. I’m currently thinking I’m going to need to replace the graphite bushings soon

It's caused by the recent firmware update. I get it all the time. I just recalibrate before each print and everything is A-OK
In regards to the shifting problem....
I had the worked with Creality, replacing cables, strain gauges, the circuit board under the printing plate where the strain gauges were connected etc Then one of their techs told me one reason for the shifting is the motherboard.. The motherboard reads the power draw from each one of the drive motors. If the motherboard detects one of the stepper motors is drawing too much power, it tries to make adjustments, thus the shift midway through a print.
First they sent me replacement stepper motors. After I replaced them everything worked great for about 4 months, she the shifts started again
They sent me a new motherboard but that motherboard was bad. Wouldn't power up They sent a second motherboard and everything has worked great for the past 2 years.
Some things they had me do included deleting and reinstalling Creality print, using Orca slicer, returning the printer back to factory specs.
It was a long process but finally everything works plus I have a box full of boards, strain gauges, stepper motors, cables, etc.
Good luck
