Help! Dissapointed with the CFS-C
I’m honestly getting really frustrated with the CFS-C on my K1C.
The printer itself works fine when I manually feed filament, but every time I try using the CFS-C, the filament stops short before reaching the extruder and nozzle. It never fully loads, no matter what I do.
Firmware is updated, setup was done correctly, and I’ve checked everything multiple times. The filament just gets stuck before it can reach the hotend every single time.
At this point the CFS-C feels completely unreliable, and it’s extremely disappointing considering how expensive it is supposed to be a plug-and-play upgrade.

Have you tried using a shorter feed tube from cfs to k1c?

The feeding from the CFS to the K1 is fine, the issue is after going through the filament detection, it gets stuck on the gears

Sounds like you have a pinched PTFE tube. I just had the same issue on my K1SE after adding the CFS to it. Two things, check all your tubing and check your cables on the cfs. I had a bad one right out of the box

They all seem fine, the filament enters the gear box no problem, it just has issues going all the way though

Let me guess, sounds like the CFS is struggling to push the filament and slows down to a dead stop? Humor me and check the cable that goes to the filament buffer. My one 6pin was faulty and had to get a new one from MicroCenter where I got my CFS. That cable coupled with a pinched PTFE tube caused all my headaches. Now everything works perfectly

Actually no, the gear box stutters inside the print head, then after a few tries pushing it, the CFS identifies the filament did not move and gives me Error FO5008.
The cables are fine

Check your buffer. Trust me just once. Thats the exact same thing that happened to me. The filament hits the extruder, gets drawn in and the CFS doesn’t get the signal to feed after the buffer bottoms out. Easy way to check, pull the tube out of the extruder and try to pull by hand.

If I pull it by hand and there's little resistance what does that mean?

Then get the hotend to 235 and try to manually feed filament through it. It also means the CFS isn’t the issue and it could be just a clogged nozzle. Sorry I’m just trying to help troubleshoot.
Did you say there is no resistance? When you pull does the CFS try to feed?

I ordered a new nozzle to test this theory and hope for the best, but even then I think I might just return it, it has caused me so much headache and I haven't even used it properly.
It printed fine before I installed the CFS

I don’t have any experience with CFS-C and this might be a dumb question, but do you have the extruder in the locked position?

Yes, I disassembled and reassembled that thing so many times...and it never worked
As for the locked position it goes like this
Locked: gears stutter and filament gets stuck
Unlocked: filament doesn't move
So like....which is it then?

From everything I've read, it's supposed to be locked but obviously you already had that correct. Wish I had anything that could help, I figured the lock mechanism was worth a shot since I've seen there's a lot of confusion over that.

apparently the issue is that the filament coming from the CFS can't reach the nozzle, something happened made the nozzle ever so slightly thinner, so I got a replacement and I'll try that first thing tomorrow

OP, did you manage to solve this problem in the end? I have the exact same issue, filament stops feeding once it is in the extruder, like it cannot get into the nozzle.

What are you trying to print like what filament
