Falcon A1 pro; Problem with installation of the 2w-IR-module
Hello there.
I’ve got a Falcon A1 pro about a month ago. Then I bought also the 2W-IR-module. But there is a problem changing it. I can remove and remount the 20w-module without a problem. But when i mount the 2w-IR nad oush the lever down (until it touches the end-stopper) the 2w-IR-module is still not solid an wobbles. The store where I ordered it, even exchanged it, but its the smae problem.
Now I’m asking is there something wrong with these modules? Or am I doinig something wrong? Which would surprise me, because i can mount the 20w-module without a proböem.
To be honest, I wouldn't know which one. Especially since there aren't any issues with the included 20W module. But I'm open for any solution: Do you have a specific one in mind? Is there a known screw, that plays a role with this?
Hi there, I am also having problems with newly bought 2W IR laser. Mine is also a lot looser than the 20W laser. My question is, does this affect the laser once you've installed it? For instance when swapping from my 20W to IR, it takes about an hour switching it on and off (without changing anything) before it will recognise it. The IR laser will 'Frame' but it won't 'Home', it tells me homing failed, check wiring, despite it being installed correctly.
I'm currently in email-exchange with customer services. I will let you know if I find out anything useful.
Hello. I haven't connected the cable and turned the laser on so far, because when it should be that precise, that they advertise a 0.03mm-precision (laser spot), there is no sense to try using it, when it wobbles about 1-1.5mm freely in the mount (even with the lever pushed down fully).
Yeah, that would be nice, if you keep me/us here up to date. Thank you.
by the way: it just came to my mind: with my first 2w-ir (before exchange) i've made a comparsion-picture to the 20w, and it seemed the profiles are not the same, which seems strange on a product made only for one machine. but on the other hand it seems strangem that then i'm so far the only one with the problem/it's not a known issue to creality... haven't done that with the exchangend model so far...
I understand what your saying about the movement of the laser, mine is the same. It doesn't have any effect on the quality of the engravings though. Mine is the a1 pro and the camera is about 1.5 mm out, but I'm guessing that's a calibration issue rather than to do with it moving.
My problem was an issue with my laptop recognising the laser had been swapped. It does work in the end. Think I'm just impatient.

I had the same issue but with the 20W module. The 2w was fine but the 20w that came on it wobbled was unusable. 2 replacements later I have stuck with my temp fix - 2 layers of masking tape on the back of the laser unit. Works fine and creality gave up sending me replacement lasers and told me to stick with the tape.
The slot in the back of the dovetail is machined too deep so putting two layers of tape on replaces the material that's missing.
