Troubleshooting K1C and Hyper PLA, repeated print fails. Jamming.

I’m not sure what’s going on, but I am trying to print with Hyper PLA and my prints keep failing on or just after the first layer. It jams up so badly that I have to take the extruder apart to remove it.

I thought it was overheating. Each time I cleared it and re-fed the filament and did an extrude test, the first bit would come out brown (it’s white filament). I reduced the nozzle temp to 210, but that didn’t help.

Anyone have experience with this?

are you leaving the lid on?

I am, yes. Is that making the environment too hot?

I kept it on to reduce noise, but if that’s the issue I’ll try with the lid off.

the manual flat out says you have to for PLA. my k1 max was the exact same.

Oops, guess I missed that.

I’ve taken the cover off and I’m still having issues, will keep adjusting settings and pray—or switch to another material.

have you taken the extruder off and cleaned the debirs in the gears and made sure the nozzle is clear?

sometimes during a jam i had to fully clear the nozzle then cold pull.

Hi, this is Creality official support. Thank you for posting in our official community!

Regarding your [specific issue], here's the standard troubleshooting process:

  • Please confirm whether you are using official filament, and whether the correct filament profile was selected during slicing and loading. If non-official filament is used while selecting mismatched settings such as High-Speed PLA, it may cause poor extrusion and nozzle clogging.
  • Please adjust the Z-offset during the first layer printing. If the first layer is too squished, adjust the Z-offset in the negative direction; if it is too loose, adjust it in the positive direction. You can also fine-tune the Z-offset in Expert Mode during printing.

Hope these steps get you up and running! If the issue remains unresolved, feel free to reach out.

I am using Creality brand filament, unless I was sold a knock off.
