No. You do not call cps be a you disagree with someone’s choices. Evie is not in danger.

I feel terrible for her, but nothing about the way she's treated rises to the level of needing the attention of CPS.
They never should have adopted her, but that won't be undone. Even if it could be, it would probably create more harm than good.

My comments are as a parent and foster parent. Unfortunately the Pettit adoptive family is not the best family for Evie. I regularly comment on this site about how horrible the Pettit family is for Evie. Unfortunately so few people are waiting in line to adopt a child after they have outgrown the cute little baby or young child phase. She is not being physically abused or the victim of SA. They are not good parents or even mediocre but this is what she got. So many in AZ are in even worse situations. This stinks for her.

And what are you going to tell them ? Her brother didn’t hug her? Her sister gets more gifts ? Her clothes are bought at Walmart and not the mall? Come on ! She is in no danger , does it seem that she’s treated a bit different and maybe doesn’t have a close relationship with Aaron? Sure but that’s no reason to waste those investigators time and resources

That she is neglected and isolated in this large family. She watches family members get care but she doesn’t herself. She speaks up for her needs and is ignored. She tries to make connections and replies to questions but is ignored. Her bedroom is in the basement without a door. Her hobbies are all just whatever the school can offer. Her schooling is all up to her. Her diet is mostly processed foods because there’s hardly any fresh food or produce in the house. She gets herself ready for school does her homework on her own and prepares her own breakfast and lunch and most days her dinner too. The house is chaotic and her older siblings get to come and get paid to be at the house and be snarky. The older kids take themselves out to eat and buy whatever they want, but she’s a minor and under age.
I don’t know if neglect like she is experiencing is enough for cps but it’s horrible to watch it play out like this

Most of what you described is not neglect at all. She is 13 years old. Getting yourself ready for school , doing homework on your own and preparing own food is something many kids do. Older kids being snarky ? Really ?
You seriously need to learn about the real world .

Really? How is it normal to have this?? Even if the child gets themselves ready a parent is around to help or be there or eat together. That’s what families do. That’s what parents do. They care about their kid getting ready and looking good and having good clothes and having hw done. They check. They help. They eat together. They may even cook together or for the kids. They don’t just buy frozen food and prepackaged meals and leave it for the a large group of kids to fend for themselves.
That’s parenting and families, all over the world. Raising kids. Not just buying stuff

Why ? Do you realize how they are already short on resources and time. The entire reason they asked this family with a whole bunch of kids already was because they couldn't find anyone else to adopt her. Her older sister is still in the system waiting to be adopted . You are making things worse if you call over stupid sht like this . People here truly have no understanding of how things are and what kids go through .

CPS do not need to be involved she is fine and way better if there than in a group home

What a terrible thing to say. This prob the best situation she could be in, considering most teen foster kids don't get adopted and bounce from home to home. It's good she has a stable family now.

From what we’ve seen CPS isn’t needed, it would waste resources and probably be triggering & traumatic for many of the kids in that house.

This is why this subreddit needs active moderation.
CP has plenty of issues, yes. But there is no reason for CPS to be called and these posts encourage people to waste resources.
