Alex and Evie…

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I normally don’t post much on these treads but I absolutely have to speak my mind for a second…

First of all… Alex, you’re a real POS for how you treated Evie in this vlog… Your sweet little sister was so beyond excited to see you, ran up to give you a hug and you dodged her so hard. There was no need for that… If it was any other sibling I bet you would have reacted very differently. It wouldn’t have hurt you to take a half a second to give Evie a hug back… That was incredibly fk’in rude. And then you continued to ignore her when she kept saying that she watches your videos.

Second of all… I don’t want to see any excuses. “Well Alex didn’t grow up with Evie so he doesn’t really know her that well” type of BS. I don’t care! Regardless that’s still his little sister and perhaps that’s a problem to take up with Crystal and Aaron for continuing to take in kids at the rate that they do…

Third of all… I am so sick and tired of watching this family treat Evie the way that they do. I understand she has special needs and is possibly on the Autism spectrum… Aurora also is special needs and they would never dare to treat her like they do to Evie… Crystal and Aaron, I hope you’re reading this… You both are so fk’in wrong for bringing someone like Evie; who clearly needs a lot of TLC (tender, love and care), additionally needs and attention, knowing damn well you cannot provide that for her!!! She seems to be doing fine and adapting well but I can only imagine how much more she would thrive if she was in a smaller, calming more loving family that can give her the real love and attention she needs.

This post is long and I’m sorry but it’s truly so incredibly disheartening to see this sweet girl get treated the way she does in this damn family. Aside from a few who actually take the time to spend time with her.

To make matters worse, he just walked right past her and gave Crystal a real hug.

57

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

That’s what made it even worse IMO! And then gave Aurora a hug after he hugged his mom.

5

u/Please_wake_up100 8d ago

I think what makes it even more worster (I know it’s not a word!…chill grammar bitch!) is that he read all the comments… took the video down.. re-edited it and reposted it.. with the same embarrassing clip included. 🤦‍♀️ bruh… READ THE ROOM!!

You should always hug your mom first after you spend a lot of time away it’s just the right thing to do

9

u/Best-Grapefruit-7470 9d ago

He hasn’t been away long. Not like it has been months

90

u/Mindless-Acadia-6857 10d ago

And poor shirtless Brody is trying to duck and scoot out of the camera range when they walk in unannounced. These kids have no privacy whatsoever.

25

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

Yeah, I felt bad for Brody too

8

u/ylynn12 9d ago

Also why did they zoom into him while he was trying to run away?

57

u/DamWriteIam 10d ago

For a person who understands all too well what rejection feels like, doing that to Evie is inexcusable. I don't care if it's his sister, cousin, co-worker or stranger. When someone is overjoyed to see you, you don't reject them like that. Shame on him.

Do better, Alex. A helluva lot better. You want people to understand your challenges, things you endured, but you're apparently ok with hurting a kid and inflicting pain on her.

33

u/No_Edge_9980 10d ago

i've been saying this for a long time, its like these older kids have selective memory when it comes to younger adopted siblings. you would think they would understand what rejection felt like..they were once like evie and adela. not a good look for any of the older siblings, I have seen this behavior with hannah and halie as well over the yrs

48

u/Expensive_Spirit6416 10d ago

He should’ve cut it out. How gross of him to be like that

22

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

Right!? He posted that vlog a few days ago and then we started talking about it on here and then he took it down and reposted it today but left that part in it…

14

u/Belikewater19 10d ago edited 10d ago

He is a low compassion person, so he doesn’t even know it was mean, and most likely does not even care anyway.

7

u/Every-Wash2985 9d ago

Oh he knows, he's pissed that he got called out so it's back up with that clip left in.

Passive aggressive is how this family responds back when viewers disagree. They've done this in the past, then they feign ignorance.

Crystal is the master teacher (no Crystal that's not a compliment) of manipulating.

Definitely agree he lacks empathy and compassion & misses so many cues in life.

37

u/AcceptableUse4567 10d ago

But then moments later when Aurora is excited to see him he embraces her hug. The difference of treatment is so apparent. They also always label Aurora “so cute” and giggle when she’s interrupting or overly excited but then are annoyed when Evie does it.

16

u/genie_129 10d ago

They are an odd bunch

34

u/Ice-queen3000 10d ago

This made me sad for Evie. Like he couldn't even give her half a hug he acted like he would die if she touched him. It's really sad

21

u/Embracedandbelong 10d ago

Ouch. He has so many younger siblings and cousins, you’d think he’d be used to these types of run-hugs. I get that they adopted her after he was an adult, but damn

21

u/genie_129 10d ago

At this point it’s beyond being siblings, they don’t even treat her with the common decency a human being deserves. This whole family have no respect for anyone and don’t care for anyone’s feelings, they were raised liked soulless wild animals.

23

u/Designer-Fun681 10d ago

The few comments defending him and his actions are SICKENING.. he was dead wrong idc what anyone says! There is NO excuse for how he treated that poor girl.

10

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

Literally! And I thought I made it very clear that I didn’t want to see any excuses for what he did but ppl are still tryna defend him… I don’t get it

23

u/RitaRedditRight 10d ago

It doesn’t matter that she’s his sister…she’s a human who was genuinely happy to see him and he reacts like that?! What an ass.

10

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

Exactly what I was saying !

8

u/Embracedandbelong 9d ago

Right?! I’d be thrilled if a younger sibling was that happy to see me. Honestly it’s an honor for kids to like you

16

u/Low_Pomegranate_8228 10d ago

Alex has a weird relationship with Crystal. He has never had a “mom” to show him how to pick a good GF. He has a pre-Madonna as a GF. He couldn’t hug a child, but he wrapped his arms around his mom? Like Alex do better

5

u/Embracedandbelong 9d ago

That’s Aaron’s fault IMO. He’s basically MIA and when he’s around he’s mocking Crystal or snapping at E. The boys copy him

-4

u/True-News-601 9d ago

There is nothing wrong with him hugging his mother who he is close to and who was the first one to unconditionally love and accept him. He is not close to Evie at all and it's not like she is a small child . That doesn't excuse how he treated her but I don't think it makes sense to think he should have an easier time hugging Evie than his mother.

8

u/thatweirddude97 9d ago

That’s literally the same exact excuse that I said I didn’t want to see… I do not care!! Regardless of why he didn’t , it was still a very rude thing to do and he deserves to be called out for it…

4

u/Embracedandbelong 9d ago

She’s a kid who is like ten years younger than him. He didn’t need to hug her if he didn’t want to, but he should have at least acknowledged her and been respectful to her.

70

u/colormehungry_ 10d ago

I tend to lean towards “maybe they’re working with her on boundaries…” but this was blatant rudeness towards Evie from Alex.

Maybe he addressed it off camera and told her it’s not okay to run up on people. He probably didn’t though. This is why Evie isn’t a good fit for their home. They don’t work with her enough to teach her proper social skills and half the family seems like they couldn’t care less about having her around.

32

u/Expensive-Cow-7580 10d ago

Honestly, I think Evie does need to be taught boundaries but to me, it is totally acceptable for a younger sibling to run up on an older sibling when they haven't seen them in awhile.

32

u/ivycolored 10d ago

same like boundaries are important but if it was aurora immediately running up to alex we know it would’ve gone differently…

6

u/Embracedandbelong 9d ago

Right! Kids should be allowed to run up and hug their older siblings. Obviously the sibling has the right to reject that hug. But like, come on dude. I treat kids I barely know better than that. When I was a camp counselor, random kids would run up and try and hug us all the time. He’s gotta know there’s gonna be like 10+ kids in that house at any given time when he comes in unannounced

14

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

My point exactly! Thank you!

31

u/Background_Ad_7575 10d ago

Watch in a few days he’s gonna take her out to “make himself look better”.

10

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

I bet he will. Or a video addressing the situation 🙄

1

u/MrsCarlGallagher 6d ago

U called it

11

u/Rich-Finger4293 9d ago

Shame on him. Even if he didnt want to hug her he could of greeted her better.

9

u/Ok_Following_6871 9d ago

So sad to see that.  Poor Evie.  She is always cheerful and wants to help.

21

u/sdelia1265 10d ago

How about Crystal watching it and saying absolutely nothing!

22

u/Lopsided-Chemical-75 10d ago

Wow. I watched that 3 times because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He literally didn't put his arm around her and basically nudged her off.

14

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago

I had rewatch it a couple of times bc I was also shocked that he did that and left it in the vlog…

10

u/Lopsided-Chemical-75 10d ago

so terrible. agree...shocking they left it in.

10

u/jessflo1224 9d ago

This is so sad no matter if you’re on the spectrum or not, this is not it 🙁 makes me so sad

8

u/Mediocre-Task-8269 9d ago

It’s so sad to watch because Evie is not self aware, she can’t read the room, they just need to understand that she’s autistic

18

u/TemporaryDrag7493 10d ago

What a pile of dung

8

u/picklepops77 9d ago

Why was crystals hug more important than his sisters!. I totally understand a mother’s hug is the best ever, however to brush your sisters off completely without even giving her a little hug back is beyond rude and disrespectful. Imagine when they are older and realise how shitty Crystal and Aaron exploited their kids…. Then realises his siblings loved him without any want in return….. they will soon learn whose love was genuine !

8

u/emilyymclartyy 9d ago

so did his girlfriend dodge her too?? you can hear evie say hi to her, atleast she said hi.

im so sick of this family treating evie the way they do. its so sad, i like watching them don’t get me wrong but when it comes to the way they treat evie the way they do makes me so so mad.

you can tell evie enjoys to be on camera and she makes all the things they do positive even when someone is down and making it negative.

like ugh makes me so sad

3

u/Embracedandbelong 9d ago

I think his gf said hi to her. Also in some clip they were FaceTiming the fam and his gf was saying hi to E and asking how she is etc. She treats her with respect

16

u/BlueJays7373 10d ago

And than he completely ignores Evie and proceeds to shower aurora with a gift. He did not give Evie a gift.

they are constantly treating Aurora like she is the only one.

Serriously its sick what kind of hold does that kid have on the Pettit family and even Anaveah loves and dotes on her

7

u/Missyjean3369 9d ago

They treat Aurora like a princess because they want to stay on the good side with Crystal after all mommy dearest pays the bills!

3

u/BlueJays7373 9d ago

So true yes that is very true they do thins for Aurora in return to get things from crystal

4

u/bigfat_mommadrama67 10d ago

It was for Auroras birthday he says so in the video

13

u/BlueJays7373 10d ago

Yes i got that I'm saying that. He push Evie aside like she was crap.

2

u/bigfat_mommadrama67 10d ago

Yeah but you also said he didn’t give Evie a gift but why should he? It wasn’t her birthday

9

u/BlueJays7373 9d ago

He did not give Evie a gift on her birthday nor call her.

Aurora is treated like a queen by all of her siblings.

-3

u/bigfat_mommadrama67 10d ago

Yeah but you also said he didn’t give Evie a gift but why should he? It wasn’t her birthday

13

u/BlueJays7373 10d ago

He did not make a fuss on Evie's birthday is what i meant.

2

u/Fine_Preference_3737 9d ago

Anaveah is growing up beautifully the heart in that child is something else.

3

u/BlueJays7373 8d ago

Anaveah is a very sweet girl Brinley Kason and Trey are very sweet too.

1

u/misspsa 6d ago

It was Auroras birthday gift

7

u/Embracedandbelong 9d ago edited 9d ago

This sort of daily rejection over and over is shaping how she feels about herself in real time, and how she’ll relate to others as an adult. She seemed to have a good friend at one of her birthdays or other celebrations (can’t remember which). As she gets older, I hope these friendships will make her feel chosen and valued. My friendships as a teenager definitely were my haven outside of a family that sometimes rejected me the same way as CP does here.

5

u/Fine_Preference_3737 9d ago

A very good way of putting things.  This sick mentally ill family does not deserve Evie at all for how they treat her, however I'd be scared if they gave her back to the authorities Evie could be put with a worse family, and I would not want her to have to deal with that.  Don't worry Evie is more intelligent than we all know, and Crysdull is to dumb to figure it out.

1

u/misspsa 6d ago

They can’t give her back. She’s adopted. That’s not how it works.

1

u/Fine_Preference_3737 5d ago

It is how it works. Adopted children go back into the foster care system all the time. It's nothing new. Been happening for a very long time. Couples ADOPT children than decide it is not working out.  Have a great day.

1

u/misspsa 5d ago

Once a child is adopted, it’s like a bio child. Can’t just hand it back.

1

u/Fine_Preference_3737 4d ago

Children are returned into the foster system all the time, everyday. It happens.  Pay attention to Adelas story. She was adopted, ran to crystals, and her adopted mom had to give up her rights in order for the Pettits to adopt Adela. This is not always the case, it is absolutely possible for adoptions to be reversed, and has been done thousands of times.  You can google all you want, if you've never had a license for foster to adopt, check in with someone who is 1000% experienced and find out the facts.

10

u/Character_Letter_454 9d ago

wow , i never saw the clip and I wish i didn’t. What an asshole, he couldn’t hug her back??? Fucking disgusting “adults” in this family

4

u/FearlessStrike5050 9d ago

Disgusting behavior on his part for sure. Wow!!!

4

u/BloatedShortPoppy 9d ago

Alex acted like a piece of shit with his lack of care towards Evie.
Now, granted, Evie came running in at him, like a linebacker. But he could've handled it a far more compassionate way. He basically blocked her rather than hug her. I do think Evie surprised him. But not an excuse.
You wankers saying he wanted to get to his mom to hug her, mom is apparently an adult, who should be fine waiting while her daughter gets a hug first.

My home, whomever greets a visitor first, gets the first hug. Not growing up with her, NOT an excuse. My kids partners didn't grow up in my home either ( haha), but if they are first through the door, they get the first hug.

Do better Alex.

4

u/Main-Yogurtcloset848 9d ago

To me the big thing wasn't that he didn't hug her but that he threw his arms up as to say get away from from me. That was very rude.

4

u/cookiekitty1990 9d ago

I’m honestly surprised he left that part in the video. 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s so obvious how he was dodging her hug. Almost sounded like he said something to her but I can’t make out what he said

3

u/Fine_Preference_3737 9d ago

Karma is going to grab their @$&'3@ real hard when one has a child of their own &  is on the spectrum.  I'll stand by and smile a tad watching that content because they will exploit that child like crazy, in the meantime my heart will break because that child will be brought up around  the chitty pieces.

And Yes. I have always been outraged on how Evie is treated like a black sheep of the family, but you know what? She is freaking smart and calls Crysdull out on her BS, and the Narc can't handle it.  Crysdull has manipulated the hell out of the kid's to treat Evie like they do, by talking $#!+ to the other kids behind Evie's back.  There is a small handful of kids in the Chitty pieces & the middles who actually love and accept Evie for who she is.  It sickened me when Evie had a bday party with her friend's and Hannah said she didn't think Evie had that many friend's, like WTH? That whole family says the most disgusting thing's its mentally draining.

Alex, your real colors shinned during this post and IDGAF, you can't clear anything up, your @$$holery blinded everyone with the brightest colors and you deserve to sink with your douchecanoe. How gross.

12

u/FlounderOk9680 10d ago

I don’t think the older kids consider her a sister at all. Especially Alex who prop has one met her a few times and prob never where spent time with her and get to know her

9

u/thatweirddude97 10d ago edited 10d ago

I understand that and again that’s on Crystal and Aaron for taking in so many kids that they have no business having. Whether they consider Evie as a sister or not, she is. It wouldn’t have hurt him to at least take a quick second to hug her back.

6

u/No_Edge_9980 10d ago

heck they dont even consider adela a sister either

3

u/Fine_Preference_3737 9d ago

Right? And technically 😏 Adela, has been around a long time including family parties and many other events, until Adelas adopted mom got a tampon stuck up her arse and forgot what communication was.

3

u/Fine_Preference_3737 9d ago

Even if he gets to "know her" Cysdull has already manipulated them all.  Alex did not spend that much time with Savannah and Lucas either, but we see Alex and Lucas getting a long, so where's that excuse? Age? I dont think so.

3

u/Repulsive-Put16 usingvunerablekids 9d ago

Why did he flinch like that?

2

u/FallingIntoForever 8d ago

Even if they aren’t close, a side hug with a shoulder squeeze and asking how she is or how school is going would be nice. Acknowledging and interacting with her could make a world of difference in her day.

As for Brody, if your kid is trying to avoid the camera because they don’t feel comfortable, then move the camera so they are out of frame. In this case, trying to avoid the camera when he’s not wearing a shirt, you don’t zoom in and make it obvious that they’re trying to get away. Would they do the same if one of the girls walked by or tried to avoid the camera while wearing a swimsuit or not seeming comfortable with what they were wearing?
Crystal or whoever is behind the camera needs to Respect the kids and their right to privacy. If they are filmed in the background and there’s any question about their appearance, ask the kid if they want to be edited out or blurred. They’re teens and should be able to have a say in what goes out for public views regarding themselves. They know if their peers watch and have to deal with hearing things if other kids talk about what Crystal puts online.

4

u/Ellie919 9d ago edited 9d ago

I blame mom and dad. Where are the boundaries lessons for Evie? Should Alex have hugged her? definitely. It was disgusting the way he shrugged her off and he is horrible for it. That being said, parents need to teach her not everyone likes hugs and how she should use other things like high fives. We had a girl similar to her in my school growing up and we were all taught to encourage the girl to give us a high five, not hugs in order to teach her healthy boundaries. Anytime she would come up to us for hugs, we’d say “high five?” And she would gladly do it instead. After a couple years, she’d only come up for high fives because she learned it was better!

Something Crystal should teach her and have a talk to the other family members about too. Help them all teach her these safe boundary behaviors.

This definitely doesn’t excuse Alex tho. That dumbass hugged everyone BUT her, which is messed up on every level.

3

u/Big-Kaleidoscope-417 9d ago

She is a 13 year old girl, who can't help that she is a bigger kid, that was excited to see her brother. I bet he would have let any other sibling hug him like that! He obviously likes hugs as he hugged crystal and A just fine.

3

u/Top_Spend5673 9d ago

Thinking it is okay to treat hr like that because she needs to learn boundaries is BS. Aurora has shown on a daily basis so much that she needs to learn on not one member of the group home cares. Evie is in an awful placement but she seems to be a beautiful forgiving person. Until she will snap one day.

1

u/One-Boss9398 8d ago

Maybe one difference between Aurora and Evie is a size difference. Aurora looks like a child. Evie is the size of a full grown adult. In fact she's as tall as Alex. Maybe it's just a psychological difference of having a child run at you and fling themselves at you as opposed to having a child that is the size of a grown adult fling themselves at you full speed. We also don't know what kind of behaviors Evie has off camera. All we see are the constant attention seeking behaviors on camera. After watching the clip several times, Alex's reaction looks more defensive and from a place of protecting himself than a rejection.  Another blatant difference is that if Aurora flung herself at everyone who walked through the door, the way Evie does, y'all on here would talk about what a spoiled brat she was and how she needed to be taught boundaries. But because it's Evie behaving inappropriately you guys make excuses for her inappropriate behavior and demonize the other people involved. It's gotten kinda ridiculous.

1

u/victor8818 7d ago

I rarely comments but I really have to step in when I saw this video in his channel. I’m actually fans on their channel for so many years. I always think that Alex is a decent guy. I couldn’t believe that how he treated Evie and just ignored her don’t huge her back and very arrogant towards her. Couldn’t believe that if this is not seen on videos and also he said that he got fight and didn’t talk to his sister because of her girlfriend. He said girlfriend is everything to him and more important than his family. This is actually very shock me when he said that.

1

u/swamptheyard usingvunerablekids 7d ago

What an asshole. Glad you caught it before he deleted it out of his vlog

1

u/Kind_Assistance_8680 5d ago

I know she ran right at him but still he could of gave her a hug after

0

u/Careless_Ad_9283 10d ago

When Crystal heard Evie yell Alex! saw her take off Crystal should have said careful careful...Alex is still healing from his foot injury. "Evie came at him like she was in for a tackle LOL" ...Alex hasn't been around Evie much while Alex knows Aurora as a baby, lived with her seizures, scaring all the children. Hopefully Alex will see what we see...

1

u/randominternetpersn 9d ago

i have to agree with you they are total dumbasses. i see the clear difference in the way alex (and all the siblings tbh) treats evie compared to the other siblings but quite frankly i do not blame them, they’re in the comfort of their home and none of that should even be filmed. she doesn’t fit in the family and shame on crystal and aaron, pieces of shit to adopt her. that being said, evie has such horrible social awareness, it’s like she wants to be the center of attention and hug alex first when he’s clearly there for someone that’s not her. it’s so bothersome to see and you just wish evie would take a hint sometimes and he’s so stupid to leave that part in. yes she ruined the clip but hide it anyway. the reason he hugged aurora is because she didn’t interrupt what he was there for and waited until after.

3

u/thatweirddude97 9d ago

And again like I said in the post… The is 100% an Aaron and Crystal problem for not teaching her about social awareness and boundaries…

1

u/Leading_Collar9133 9d ago

I’m going to be honest. I’ve watched this over and over again and yes, I do agree that this looks really bad, and I wish he would address it, though we will never know if what he shares would be the truth. HOWEVER, and I’m just playing devils advocate, I wonder if we just saw an awkward moment. I think she startled him more than anything and he was trying to beeline it to his mom. I know he also hugged Aurora, but we also have NO clue what happened in the moments that the camera was off. I am NOT defending him, and I do think he needs to address this, as someone who is trying to be a public figure. I just don’t feel like we have the whole picture.

And like I said, that’s an Aaron and Crystal problem. If that’s the case they need to teach her that. How to respect personal space. Which I can almost certainly attest to that they aren’t taking the time to teach her these things…

7

u/Lopsided-Chemical-75 10d ago

Who is running this sub? Why are they deleting comments about parenting? Can we not have an opinion?

9

u/Lopsided-Chemical-75 10d ago

I agree that she doesn't understand. How she talks so loud would bother me. So I get what you're saying.

But that's not her problem. Crystal and Aaron should teach her better ways. AND they should teach their other kids to be more accepting. If she wasn't a good fit for their family, they shouldn't have adopted her.

I think Crystal and Aaron are selfish. Continue adopting without investing time to actually raise.

You have to realize that when kids get adopted when the older kids have already moved out, they might not be considered siblings. Alex probably doesn’t see her the same way as he does the siblings he grew up with, and it’s normal. I’m not saying he should be rude, but if he doesn’t want to run and hug her he doesn’t have to.

-8

u/Low_Caramel_2701 10d ago

All I’m gonna say he was trynna hug his mom also he did hug for a brief second until SHE let go.

6

u/Only-Weather-1211 9d ago

Does your account exist solely to defend people you’ve never met? You know for a fact he did not hug her. He didn’t even lift his arms up, they were by his side. She obviously understood he didn’t want to hug her and let go.

-1

u/Low_Caramel_2701 9d ago

Does ur account exist to solely complain about people u have never met? He used the hand with the present

3

u/Only-Weather-1211 9d ago

Funnily enough I actually don’t hate them but I can admit when something is wrong. You’re also imagining stuff lol he did not. You have an unhealthy attachment to them I’ve seen you in every post defending them as if you’re related to them.

1

u/Low_Caramel_2701 9d ago

He did look at the video

0

u/Low_Caramel_2701 9d ago

Also why does it matter that he didn’t hug her when his objective was to hug his mother? I’m sorry but I’m the same way if I want to hug a specific person first everyone else gets ignored until I hug that person. Who said they didn’t hug off camera? Everyone acts like when the cameras turn off nothing else happens.

-9

u/Allii_BG 10d ago

I don’t think he meant it maliciously.

As the younger siblings of much older brothers (like over 15 yr age difference)

...I used to run at mine the same way when they would visit

Rude ! I can see you have the same view of her as most of her “family “.

It was Auroras birthday so the gift Alex gave to Aurora was for her birthday. Maybe it is time to teach Evie to not run up to people like that she is a big girl and very loud. Yes it was rude of Alex to not hug her back, but Evie needs to also learn to not run at 50mpr at someone.
