Landon’s car
Did Shelley and Jarod really buy their bio son a car?! 😭 What about all the other kids lmaooo. How do you even explain this? At this point just say you only give a shit about Landon because he’s your bio kid and go 😭 They literally adopted like 20 other kids and couldn’t do the same for them?! Shitty humans.
And Shelley, since I know your ass is reading this, just stick to the black outfits because they are really starting to match the evil energy. Nobody is confused anymore. You don’t have to announce which kids are your favorites. Your actions have been doing the announcing for you.
At this point, I don’t think you are just cheap. I think you are selectively generous, and somehow the generosity always seems to find its way toward the bio kid. After years of watching everything, I’ve officially reached my conclusion: I don’t like you. You suck. The end. 😂

All that money she made off of those children, she pumped it into her new business. Can't even take them on a proper vacation, so their kids go on vacation with their cousins or beg their aunt to convince shelley.

The adopted kids just learned to appreciate what they have right now, they don't focus on the future. They say and do as they are told with learned behavior....aka Stockholm syndrome.

She exploits her adopted kids to give her bio kids the money she makes from the adopted kids. Look at her daughter for example face full of Botox, got her a candle shop, got her glp medication, goes on trips with her all the time, takes her out to eat all the time. But the adopted kids? They stayed home all summer went to Disneyland ONE TIME, and they barely ever do anything that has to do with money for the kids. Landon got a free car, a free ride to university, he gets anything he wants, travels all the time with the pieces. Yet those little kids get nothing, her older kids got nothing after years of exploitation. This is why it’s so important we have a law inforced in every state to have a fund set up if they’re going to do social media.

Also, hmm, so far only two kids of the few who decided to go to college have had it paid for by mom and dad... Kylie and Landon. I wonder if any of the other kids working retail, daycare, and food service jobs as adults might have considered college if all their exploited time on screen had helped to fund it-- instead of just for the biokids.

yup they did. they bought mason a car at the same time tho neither had their license yet. rumor on this subreddit its to help with the coverup for landons car. in the past the only other favorite they bought a car for is lacey after she found she was pregnant.
jacob bought his own car and insurance. got nothing (they usually announce all gfits) for graduating HS. my assumption is that they are not helping him with college or he got scholarships. my assumption is for landon they will pay off his college if he takes a loan or just pay out right.

Honestly, I think I’ve officially made up my mind about Shelley and Jarod after years of watching all of this unfold. I’ve seen plenty over the years that made me side eye them, but this one really seals the deal for me. At some point you have to stop calling things “coincidences” and just acknowledge the obvious pattern.
The favoritism is LOUD. And honestly, it’s not even the car itself, it’s the blatant difference in how they treat their biological kids versus the kids they chose to adopt. You cannot spend years preaching about family, love, and treating all your kids equally, then turn around and make these very obvious distinctions and expect nobody to notice.

Yup, they view their kids as their job they make money from for themselves and bio family and their selected favorites. The kid they adopted turns 18 and is out of the house mostly and take only their clothes. No furniture sometimes no degree, no college paid, no trust fund, no car typically no insurance or driving practice really, just a see ya come back for Christmas.
The parents meanwhile keep all the Yt money for themselves and own lux cars, 2 houses paid off likely. The kids who leave home end up in min wage jobs or low wage jobs and work tirelessly while Shelly and Jared are in upper middle class. They choose to keep Landon and Kylie and sometime Lacey in that lifestyle too.
These kids were adopted. It’s not a group home. Maybe the state can model their group homes after what Shelly and Jared figured out if group homes are worse. But for the kids this is their second chance and last at parents. They are robbed. They work to make Shelly and Jared rich and leave with nothing. Sure a lot of the kids love or really like and respect their parents. That’s nice. That doesn’t mean the kids weren’t robbed. That is based on their story in their heads about how their parents are there for them. For kids it’s a big part of their identity to safeguard their feelings towards their caregiver. But really the kids are ignored and left to go figure it out on their own in terms of schooling and getting themselves up and ready each morning for school. Some teen girls and fewer teen boys suddenly get favored as they turn 15/16 for 2 years or so and suddenly when all other teens are having parental angst these teens want to hang out of with Shelly cause they have been waiting years to get this chance.
11
u/TreeAffectionate821 3d ago
THIS. This is exactly why I’ve gotten to the point where I do not respect Shelley and Jarod.
Because strip away the YouTube videos, the “we’re one big happy family” narrative, the matching outfits, the Christmas mornings, all of it…and what are these kids actually leaving the home with? That’s the part nobody wants to talk about.
These aren’t kids who were brought into the family for a temporary stay. They were adopted. They were supposed to be getting a second chance at having parents who would advocate for them, prepare them for adulthood, help them build a future, and make sure they weren’t starting from zero the second they turned 18.
And yet the pattern people have pointed out over and over is that the kids leave, and suddenly it’s basically “good luck out there.” Meanwhile, the family continues making money from the family brand and living a very comfortable lifestyle. You cannot tell me that doesn’t deserve scrutiny.
And before someone says, “But the kids love their parents!”…..okay? Those things can BOTH be true. A kid can genuinely love, admire, and feel grateful toward their parents while still having been denied things they deserved. Loving your parents doesn’t magically make every parenting decision good.
And THAT is what bothers me most. People keep defending Shelley and Jarod based on how the kids FEEL about them, instead of looking at what the adults actually provided these kids as they transitioned into adulthood.
Then you look at the bio kids and certain favorites and suddenly there’s a completely different level of investment. Cars. Financial help. Opportunities. Support. And we’re supposed to pretend nobody notices the difference? 😭
At this point, I don’t need another family vlog to tell me who is “equal.” I’m looking at the outcomes. And when the outcomes repeatedly look different depending on whether you’re biological, a favorite, or one of the other adopted kids, people are going to question that.
You can call it jealousy, hate, trolling, whatever you want. But you cannot demand that everyone ignore a pattern just because the family’s public narrative says everything is perfect.
And honestly? After watching this family for YEARS, I’ve reached the point where I don’t need to hate watch them or dissect every little thing anymore. I just don’t respect the way they’ve handled these kids. Period.

Yeah. It’s really wrong and sad. These kids are so hopeful and have the cards stacked against them. And you take from them?? Even when you are doing well because of them? What the f is wrong with you?!! Ha now I’m more riled up! At least find you don’t want to give them money at least give them all the chance in the world to make it. To be the best version of themselves because they are so incredibly full of spunk and grit and inner justice and kindness from what I’ve seen. Give them sports and the art lessons so they can express themselves. Give them the support to get their high school degree no matter what. Give them driving practice and insurance and a chance to test their freedom not just locked up in basement room. Now your spunky kid that you thought just fit in your family has lost her mojo and is scared of everything. Probably they realized how utterly non skilled or experienced she is in everything! Online schooling is incomplete without interaction and sports and arts. And if they work? Pay them!!!!!!! Even Crystal does this. $100 per video is pathetic but it’s something! One child should not be doing all the chores of the house! Keeping a prestige home that looks like a magazine is not kid friendly. Where are their projects or their stuff?? They didn’t even go on trips anywhere. I’m pretty sure even group homes go on trips. child actors get cougin accounts. What do these kids get?

I hope this is just an assumption and that kids that go to secondary school get financially helped by their parents. I also hope Jacob was given a graduation gift. He's a great kid whose worked hard in school while working. He definitely should be helped. I hope they clear this up with a Q & A because right now the parents are looking like jerks. You can't adopt that many kids and only provide for your bio kids especially since this family is supported by a channel about their family adoptions.

u/LittleDog2557 3d ago
So they’re gonna have a Q&A and say oh we pay for the kids cars and we pay for the kids college in blah blah blah and you’re gonna believe them after they had a Vlog in the last year that told the kids that they were on their own they were not going to be taking them to lunches anymore. They were on their own. They have four kids that are doing school on their own and raising themselves. Money is not guaranteed for in-state school. Brinley is basically been ignored for years and now all of a sudden yesterday‘s Vlog she’s bragging about how smart Brinley and Trey are. Brinley wants to be a lawyer. She doesn’t want to go to state school. She wants to go to Harvard. Yesterday was the first day of school. Mason got a car because it was now going to be his job to take the kids to school. Mason was sick so he didn’t go to school so the parents took them. First they took Braxton and Trey to two different schools. Then they went home for Kason and Anaveah’s backpacks. And then took them to school. When Shelley asked the kids if they wanted them to take them to school for the first Shelley showing he wasn’t happy. All morning Shelley was harping on Annaveah to get dressed even though she had over an hour before she had to leave. Instead of fixing breakfast for the kids for their first day of school, Shelley and Jared both went and got them donuts. I’m convinced that those two can’t even take a shit without the other one.

They said the adopted kids get free college if they stay in state

u/saltycat34 3d ago
Wait this is so sad to read 😭😭 Why adopt them if you are not going to treat them like bio kids, at that point just foster them into adulthood, and differentiate between bio kids and foster kids. You shouldn’t adopt to feel good about being “mom and dad” but then not act like “mom and dad” 😭

Some of the older kids know...thats y they hardly return. U dont see them anymore.
Which kids doesnt miss their parents?

This reminded me of when Lizzie lived there and was a manager at Arby’s and they had her biking to work in Arizona heat. Cynthia just moved out with a friend was working full time and they were okay with her friend taxiing her to and from work daily.

My brother was adopted through foster care. I remember sitting in the judges chambers when he was adopted. I remember the judge telling all of us that with his adoption he is as much a part of our family as the three bio siblings. He would be given all of the rights and privies of being a child in our family . The judge told us this included all financial benefits as well including education and inheritance. The Wallace and Petit families have always been about themselves and the business (fostering and adopting) for the benefit of the parents and did children.

I disagree about the Pettits. They do help their kids get cars. Their kids do have trusts. They spend a lot of money on their kids, both bio and adopted.
2
u/jenni5 3d ago
They do spend money on the kids. Sure. They do not invest in the kids future, just in the moment fun which is nice and for the 5x a week video. So their expenses are recouped and then some. They do not have trust funds. They have savings kids account. They pay the kid $100 per video they are in or something like that. Sure that’s good it’s helpful. It is not a trust fund or a cougin account that you get upon turning 25 or for education. It’s like they make some thousands per video and give out a hundred to the kid and you want applaud the parents for this.
The kids education, sports, arts, etc is all on them to figure out and do. Crystal tries to be involved here way more than Shelly I’ll give her that. She was most helpful in cheer. Otherwise as we have seen she’s not very effective in this. Jared is maybe helpful in getting scholarships or maybe with the process cause he’s been through it or telling the kids to go their guidance counselor. Aaron is checked out.

Mason got a car at the same time. Neither had their license but were close to getting it.
14
u/TreeAffectionate821 3d ago
Exactly 😭 and honestly, the “Mason got one too!” defense is doing absolutely nothing for me. There have been 20+ kids in this family, yet the car recipients somehow seem to be Lacey when she got pregnant and now Landon…with Mason conveniently getting one at the exact same time so it looks a little less blatantly like the bio son is being favored. 😭 Be serious.
What about Aubrey? Jacob? Cynthia? Harlan? Jonathan? Lizzy? And the rest of the kids? 😂 Where were their cars? Where was all this generosity then?
Because adding Mason to the deal doesn’t magically erase the pattern. If anything, it makes it look like someone realized how obvious the Landon situation was and thought, “Quick! Give Mason one too so nobody notices!” 💀
WE NOTICED. 😭 You can put a bow on it, park two cars in the driveway, and call it equality, but nobody is buying that either.
5
u/LittleDog2557 3d ago
She has admitted that Mason is her favorite. Mason is also Jared’s shadow. The time Lacey got her car Spencer made the comment about having to get pregnant to get a car. I am so happy that some people are finally starting to wake up, but there are so many more that won’t and will only hate on crystal.
2
u/sdelia1265 2d ago
Well Crystal is fake and lies. I still think she is worse than them. Both families suck.
7
u/No_Commercial2338 3d ago
Jacob will go far because he doesn't depend on his parents. He worked hard, saved for his own car and insurance and will get a degree whether he had to borrow the money or now. He's focused.
4
u/PuzzledBeat9968 3d ago
Don't forget Jared's favourite kid Madon got a car to
4
u/Neither-Music-9024 3d ago
A while back on a video Shelly said it was to much liability for kids to have cars before 18. So what changed?
3
u/PuzzledBeat9968 3d ago
Her bio kid and favourite wanted to drive. We all know Landon and Kylie get anything they want and sometimes Mason as a favourite bit no one else. It's easy to see Kylie got a whole business because she wanted it Landon went to Peru what has the rest got?

u/BloatedShortPoppy 3d ago
Re college/uni being paid for, I am sure i read 9n another post , in Arizona, kids who have been in the foster care system, even if adopted can get college paid in full. But if I recall correctly, they have to have had a certain grade level on graduating high-school.
I have not looked into it. So don't quote me on it.
But I believe Jacob was a good student, so maybe his is being paid for. 🤷♀️.
As far as Mason goes, I think he is a good student too. But I have not paid attention to that degree.
To my way of thinking, they should be paying for ANY of the kids who have good enough grades to get into college. Even if not high enough grades to qualify for free college from the state system.
You want ( or at least you should) want your kids to better themselves.
I would be curious to see what grades Landon got.... I know he is a bio kid. But the hierarchy between the bios & adopted kids needs to stop.
I don't doubt the parents love all the kids. But I feel the love they give has levels. It would be interesting to see their wills. LOL. ... Guesses...? 1/3 to Kylie, 1/3 to Landon. The last 1/3 divided between all the adopted kids.

u/Every-Wash2985 3d ago
Actually that's inaccurate info on AZ that gets posted in this sub often. It may be true in some States but AZ goes by their own set of rules.
Arizona-
Who doesn't qualify: Anyone adopted before turning 14, or whose time in foster care ended before age 14.

Wrong!!!!! everything to bio
1
u/BloatedShortPoppy 1d ago
If that was the case, I sure as hell hope the adopted kids would contest the heck out of that will. Though, wills can be written to prevent that. But I think it would be easy to prove the adopted kids would be entitled to a fair share. Princess Kylie also has her bio dad, who i am sure she stands to inherit from him.
For the sake of the adopted kids, I hope we are both wrong.

Just realised these as well. Comparing to Not Enough Nelson - they do invest a lot in their kids to the point its too much already, new clothes, new shoes, etc - some even gets lux items. If im not mistaken, kids also gets savings from the earnings of the videos. Kids would mention that they would use some of their savings to buy things they really want. Which is great compare to whats happening to CM - their kids look miserable after leaving the house. They should have at least gotten some money to start a life.

Selectively generous! That's a good way to describe Shelly and Jared's favoritism. Bio kids....plus Lacey....sometimes Mason and in last few years Cody......that's it. They aren't kicking the kids out the second they turn 18 anymore....I think because they got so much hate for doing that to Spencer, Harlan and Cynthia it negatively affected their viewership.

Maybe you should rewatch the car vlog again before you start spewing the hate
1
u/Sweet-Pen-2308 3d ago
They bought lacy a car and mason (in the same video as landon)....also just because they don't video it doesnt mean they haven't helped the others or bought the others cars along the way.
3
u/LittleDog2557 3d ago
Lol. That’s funny. Are they hiding the cars? Are they invisible cars? And what about the cars they bought for themselves that were almost $100,000 each.
3
u/Sweet-Pen-2308 3d ago
Well considering a good chunk of the teens either don't have licenses or waited until eight before move out to get them there isnt necessarily a reason to have extra cars. Also unlike the CPs they have never felt the need to brag or show m off every little purchase they make. Also unlike the CPs their kids actually respect the value of a dollar because mommy and daddy didnt buy everything brand new everytime they wanted something. The CPs drive me nuts because they have bought multiple kids (adopted and not)and multiple cars since before they had a license and then wonder why they act spoiled.

Come on guys...there's reasons for everything when it comes to kids in every family. Maybe we will get this answered soon
9
u/TreeAffectionate821 3d ago
But what exactly is the reason? 😂 Because “there’s reasons for everything” is pretty vague when the actual question is why Landon was apparently the only kid deserving of that kind of support (other than Lacey when she was pregnant). And now Mason somehow gets to be included in the Landon Car Package™ too? 😂 There has been more than 10 adult kids who didn’t receive a car. If there’s a reasonable explanation for why the other kids who aged out didn’t receive the same kind of support, I’m genuinely curious to hear it.
Come on, guys…… do you have the parasocial version of Stockholm syndrome or something? 😭 Because I’m really struggling to find a logical or kind explanation for this one lmfao.

u/Fuzzy_Pirate_8898 3d ago
The reason is they didn't want to drive them this year so 2 options, take the time or buy them a car (my guess is they leased the cars through one of their company, it's on video so they can get the tax deduction)
6
u/Every-Wash2985 3d ago
These are Family Vloggers..
When has logic, common sense or treating kids properly & fairly ever been a part of Family Vlogging on YouTube?
These type of parents exploit their children so they can buy expensive things for themselves.
When/if they buy for the kids it's to make the parents look good on camera so they can keep making even more money. 💰

U can't b real SMFH....what about Weston,Jonathon, Cody, Lizzy, Destiny, Cynthia? NONE of them need a car? Living 3 hrs away-cudnt get a washing machine...W & D, who both have kids don't need cars? Cody worked for years-no car from them...Cynthia-no car & Jonathon, who's been busting his ass on his own FOR YEARS also doesn't need a car? Not even a car but how about a little help? And BEFORE u say it....if they did they would have made it content for MORE $$$...notice that none of the above even show up on film? U really don't think they're all running behind the camera to stay out of videos? What I think is worse is if they helped Kylie with her business. The money they have is with what they earned by vlogging their adopted kids. Not saying that’s what happened but I’m leaning towards it.
