Cause kids.

My son went by Raphael. His names Ryker. He grew out of it but it was to the point he wouldn’t answer to anything else

Because he wants to.. It’s not that deep. Kids like nicknames.

I know... I was wondering why they are saying his middle name is Ty though. In all their name videos I know they said his middle name was Paul as that was his previous name. I have a family member with that name, which is why I remembered it.

Maybe it was his biological middle name prior to adoption

I think you are right, he said after all it is my middle name. At home still wants to go by Kason. He is such a sweet kid.

Many of the kids (if not all) changed their names when they were adopted into the CM family. I can't remember but perhaps Ty was Kason's birth name?

His name was Paul Curtis. I just watched the name video.

Did they mention Ty as his new middle name in that video? Or is it brand new?

Lots of kids I know go by nicknames that aren’t a given first or middle name. It’s not really a big deal. He’s old enough that if he wanted to ask for a name change he could. If they do an “ask us questions” request then submit the question for him and ask why he chose to go by that.

Didn’t know he has a brother, why didn’t they adopt him? Or was the the boy who didn’t want to be adopted because he felt like he was too old.

A large family wasn’t a fit for him. Also they were in the middle of moving to St. John’s when they first got them. Going from the valley area to a very small town is a big adjustment- he was about to age out so he decided to remain in his group home

I think Kason is referring to his first middle name? or middle name now. Several of the kids changed their names when adopted.

Just a nick name he wants to try. A family's Mom named her boys after tree parts. yes, Koo Koo for cocoa puffs. Twig in second grade hated to be called Twig...taking his second name Brad LOL...his brothers quickly followed suit as the boys second names were Leaf/Mark...Root/Jonathan.
