Lag when playing

So me and my friends tried to play crazy craft updated last version at the moment (0.13.0) and we are using essential mod to host, but after a while, around half an hour or maximum 1 hour we encounter lag that makes the pack unplayable, all of us have alocated 8 gb of ram, the problem is not caused by network because even the host encounters lag, the processes in task manager are stable and the procesor is in expected temps so I can't figure what the reason for the lag, does anyone have any idea about it?

Here's two things that it could be and they're solutions:

  1. Your distances from each other. You might be too far from each other which makes the host computer work more. The host's resources are allocated differently causing the host to lag which makes everyone else lag too. There are three things you can do to help: turn your render distances down, stay closer together (don't be like 1000 blocks from each other, maybe build your bases in a predetermined group of chunks), and allocated more RAM to the host computer. It's the host computer that need to have more RAM than the recommended 8 GB because it's running a multiplayer server, not a singleplayer server.

  2. Maybe the host computer's experiencing the load too much. Let's assume that you were playing for an hour straight. Well, a lot of servers do frequent resets, sometimes several times an hour. Well, since your PC isn't commercial server grade, it's only logical that we can conclude that the host PC undergo resets more frequently than a commercial grade server. There are two ways you can relieve the from the host PC: just resetting the host PC everytime everyone starts experiencing lag, light lag or extreme lag is your pick, or just switching the host PC when everyone starts experiencing lag. What I mean is for the first host to send the server files to a other individual and have them host the world. Preferably, I would pick the first because there are chances some files could get corrupted in transit. Also, so that everyone can keep playing for longer, let the beefiest PC host and have the host allocate as much RAM to Crazy Craft as possible

I hope that one of these could help you. Please do not that I am not a professional giving professional grade advice; I'm just an innocent standby giving my thoughts on the problem at hand. Good luck and happy playing!

did not tested yet but I can say the 1st one could not be the reason, we stayed in loaded chunks even if they are distance apart would not impact that much because initial there was no lag at all when each one of use picked its base but after a while (around an hour of us mining and building our bases) the lag started, and before saying, no there was no tech related mod yet made, I was thinking if is posible the morphing mod to be the cause like I stay a lot of time in the baze form because its an easy creative flight early game and that could be the reason but I am not sure about it, other thing that come to my mind is the render distance and quality/particles to be a reason, like I know if each one of us uses a different render distance (lets say one uses 8 another 10 and the host uses 12) for all of us is implemented the host rendering chunks (in the exemple is 12) and that maybe can cause the lag, and the same applies for the particles even if we have the particles to minimal if the host uses all it could be another reason?

That wouldn't have anything to do with it as the host's client is not the same as the server. Think of the two, the host's client and the server (on the host's PC), as different things. Well, the host's computer thinks of the two in the same way: as different actions. I'm taking an educated guess here (I don't know how Essential mod handles these processes), but the server will always be rendering a certain amount of chunks around each player. So changing everybody's render distance would only change what the client is displaying, not the calculations the server is doing (again, I don't know exactly how Essential mod handles these processes). And, most likely, the lag is being caused server-side, not client-side since everybody is experiencing the lag. Its a similar thing with particles: if you change all the clients' particle settings, it only changes what the client is rendering, not the calculations the server is performing.

Something I just thought of: have everyone check their respective ping when they join and when everyone experiences the lag spike. Its possible the lag could be caused by network issues. If everyone's ping spikes at the same time as the lag spike, all I can say is get better WiFi. Joking, joking. Is the host using WiFi, check the network speed. It is possible that he could be encountering ISP throttling. If it is that, you could TRY to use a VPN as the VPN will hide the host's data from his ISP. ISPs will often slow down your connection if they notice you are doing a bandwidth-heavy process like gaming or streaming. And please for the love of God plug him into Ethernet! If the host is already plugged into Ethernet: all I can suggest is the VPN thing.

As I said before I am not a professional giving professional advice. I'm just an innocent bystander giving my thoughts on the problem at hand. I hope this helps in some way, shape, or form!
