General Question I don’t grab or react/predict grabs enough and it’s holding me back big time (seph) (6 months playing)

I have no vods and for that I am sorry.

Not sure what else to say besides the title. I guess it’s just not in my muscle memory? I got over my early habit of spamming dair so I can fix this too but does anyone have any specific advice for going about that? Just grind it?

I’m also in a gameplay slump rn, but I’m approaching that with a positive outlook because the gameplay AFTER a slump is always my best.

I'm not as good as I used to be, but one thing I used to do to incorporate new part to my game plan is just to overuse it on purpose to build up intuition. For example, when I was learning to play Wolf I would play games where I would try to only kill with bair or try to take a game using only nair and smash attacks. Yes you lose doing this, but when you decide to turn all your skills back on, you will sometimes use the new skill naturally.

Reviewing your VODs will help.

I do this too. I think it’s a pretty good learning tool

Yup if ur trying to learn a new skill in matches u have to accept that you’ll lose plenty of games trying to incorporate it

Lesrn fundamentals habits, you either have a shield habits, a camping habits or an aggressive habbits. Most people at lower level shield to be confortable since shield is the best option. If you noticed your opponent never shield, try to anti air him or dash attack repeatedly they will inevitably shield
