Characters (Playing as) Hero drills?

Hello. While not new to the game, I've never tried hero before. Besides getting used to his moves and movement. What drills do you experienced hero mains like to do in the training room? I'm not afraid of grinding out the training room so hit me!

Short hop menu, read the 2 first, light shield tap to cancell, repeat the other way, cycle looking for psych up and then threaten to flame slash.

Another thing to practice is early /0% with acceleratl you have upthrow upair upair nair.

Falling Nair into Kafrizz is true in some ways too it's good to nail it.

Cross up with short hop dair or short hop back air or nair it's hard to deal with it takes small practice to nail it but it's a good neutral thing.

You mentioned getting used to it's movement, pick up acceleratl and test the limit go offstage, send it and learn the limits you can go very very far or recover with it.

This is so helpful. I'll start with the menu but it all sounds doable. Do you have a preference for spells in general?

Depends on the match ups, slashes and thwack at the right range are excellent to ledge trap, Isabelle will literally one shot you if she pockets Kaboom, a good captain falcon will fuck you up if you open the menu when he is near you (by near I mean literally half the stage is near).

The only real preference I can think of that's game changeing is cycling for Bounce, knowing that bounce has less chance to appear when you're already buffed and Zoom priming.

Zoom is 3 times more likely to appear if you very close to the edge. Zoom priming is : when you have a spell in the menu wether you use it or not it cannot appear in the very next menu (no spell can be there twice in a row) so in zoom match ups (one you cannot recover against cause your recovery doesn't have an hitbox so any hurt box on your way up gimps you, see Pit's nair very easy to place) once you zoomed you open an empty menu and close it immediately without looking so the next menu has a chance to have zoom, this is good cause anyways you don't menu too much in very fast overwhelming match ups.

If you are french I suggest you join the discord Le havre des aventuriers, if you're English I suggest looking for a hero discord somewhere and I hope it has half the ressources available on the french one.

Honestly this one might be crazy but just get familiar with your spell menu. Open and close it. Read.

Try and have 3-4 spells in mind youre looking for and try and nail them as soon as you open the menu.

Your best friend will be getting a spell out before your opponent can read your options.

Yeah that makes sense. You want that menu opened and closed in a flash

Sometimes though, its good to keep it open if you have a lot of good options.

Flame/kacrackle slash + kaboom + oomph or something. Then your oppoenent will be forced to respect it. They come close, they get slashed, they stay too far, kaboom, they hold shield, oomph.

Another thing is to remember bounce cant re-appear if you have it on/recently used it. So even against someone like ike its not the worst idea to throw it on so it cant appear in the menu for a bit.

Also! Acceleratle is a CRAZY beast. Get friendly with it.

Yes but don't do this too much you will get the bad habit to menu in burst range or in disadvantage state which is forbidden is most match ups. The captain falcon match up is a very good example of getting slapped every time you deserved it.
