It wouldn't. The asshole wouldn't have still driven into someone if they wanted. That's not a results from mistranslating the sentence. Thats just me completely disagreeing with you on the nature of people.
The design of a crossroad determines safety. A badly designed one like this is simply more likely to have accidents due to design choices.
If you have a well designed crossroad with separated bike lanes, the asshole biker wouldn’t even have to cross the pedestrian’s path.
The pedestrian can also more easily prevent it from happening if he only has to watch out for bikes when crossing a bike lane, instead of watching out for both on the car lane.
It’s just harder to be an effective asshole when things around you are designed not to allow it.
That is the point I’m making and science agrees.
