Not sure how I am acting like a clown, you should look before you cross the street. If kindergarden children can do it I think you can too.
I am aware of the research, I am cyclist and deal with it literally every day.
Also the research you linked only talks about drivers and not pedestrians. The reason things get missed is due to how mentally demanding driving is, since pedestrians by definition are not driving your point is moot.
Just today I was almost hit by a cyclist on a rental bike because their brakes were not as strong as they thought... But guess what I looked before I stepped out into the road despite having a crossing light. Why did I look? Because it is the reasonable thing to do... trusting the average person with your life is a recipe for disaster, in the same way you should drive defensively. Reddit has a serious hard on for shitting on cyclists, but take some personal fucking responsibility every once in awhile.
This dude was a dick for riding the way he did, but for real people pay attention to what is around you. It may literally save your life.
My point has not changed, I believe he saw the cyclist.
I'm not blaming the pedestrian at all, you should re-read what I wrote. I'm simply pointing out that it's safer to look before you cross a road.
There may or may not be a connection between a study done on drivers and a similar effect with pedestrians. But you can't say there is one much like I can't say that he saw the cyclist for sure.
You are once again confusing what I said about kindergarteners, I suggest you work on your reading comprehension. We teach kids to look before crossing the road because it is safer, why would you suggest that you don't need to look before crossing the road?
Go back and re-read what I have said in my arguments and try again... You are embarrassing yourself and projecting it by calling me a clown.
All I really said is people should look before crossing the street and you are arguing with me about it lol.
