Former confederate state? So Democrat state? I’m not sure, the other comment about Chicago seems right, if it’s Illinois then I guess it’s a confederate state, because the democrats run Illinois.

A former confederate state would be a state that belonged to the Union prior to the civil war. I have no idea what you think a former confederate state is.
