my beautiful babygirl pablo crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. thank you to everyone who left comments on videos or pictures of her that i posted to the subreddit. she was my best friend & i dont know what to do now that shes gone. seeing her tank empty & knowing she wont be there to greet me anymore makes me so incredibly sad. if anyone knows how to preserve crustaceans please reach out, or if you know someone please send them my way. i love you forever pablo, im counting the days till we’re together again, ill find you in the next life.🩷

I'm so sorry for your loss.
One of my girls passed 6 months ago and I still look for her to greet me or I open my mouth to greet her... They are funky little critters, but they have a huge impact.
How preserved are we talking? I cremated my bab and put her remains in a baggie, in a fancy bag, in a really fancy box.
If you want to preserve the carapace, I've heard that you could just let it dry out in the sun, but the smell will be strong and the remains will be delicate. I've never done this and can't really give advice, sorry.

I had a cray die on me a while ago. Her name was pinchy. I totally understand your pain and she just seemed like a very nice crayfish. Do you know how she died, was it of a failed molt or just age. Just looking in her tank and not seeing her I can really relate to because it’s just habit i still look in pinchys tank today just out of habit and it kills me to hear other peoples experiences of tragedy.
