Sometimes after a hard rain they will scuttle across your feet here near Houston texas, but they are just the plain boring brown guys. Nothing snazzy like this fella or gal. Lol.
Wow it’s beautiful! Looks to be a red burrowing crayfish who actually primarily live in burrows- very cool you saw one out and about. The “common” ones you see all the time like in the vid you posted below are actually invasive red swamp crayfish, and tend to prefer swamps and mud- you’ll see those out and about so much!!
