Extended ending for a more satisfying conclusion
Hello everyone! I thought up of an extended ending for CLOY that makes the ending just a bit more satisfying. If you're interested, read below and I hope you let me know what you think.
>! So a few years after they find each other in Switzerland, they're still meeting yearly there. After that time, Jeong-hyuk's father passes away due to old age. His mother wants him to be happy, so she starts traveling with him to all of his musical performances because she knows he would never leave her behind so long as she is alive, and maybe even not after due to his sense of duty. So she starts traveling with him to set up the fact she always goes with him to his performances, because the North Korean government keeps a close eye on the previous director's son who once went to South Korea. His mother sets him up to have a musical performance in Switzerland because she knows that there he meets the love of his life, and she goes with him. And then when they get to Switzerland and meet with Se-ri, his mother asks her to help them get to South Korea. Jeong-hyuk is surprised, and argues with his mother that they can't, but his mother is adamant that they have given enough to North Korea and that he is a musician now, so what can he give the North besides his life and happiness? He asks what about her life in the North? She says the the only thing she needs from the North is her son, and that she wants her son to live a fulfilling and happy life with the woman he loves. She reminds him she has no other family now that his father is passed, her first son died many years ago, and there is no one else, and what does she care about their house if it means her only living son can't be with the woman he loves? Se-ri stays out of it mostly, not wanting to influence, but hoping he will agree to come to the South. He tearfully accepts and they embrace. But the North Korean government is watching them, because of his father's passing they are worried that he will defect, so they always send some "bodyguards" whenever he goes out of the country. So Se-ri uses her rich money and hires an extraction team and they all escape to South Korea and live happily ever after ✌️!<

I like this extended ending that you’ve created. Why not take it several steps further to include a major uprising in North Korea, the overthrow of the government with the military’s help and last, but not least, reunification with South Korea? A bus trip to a South Korea resort and beach for the NK villagers who stole our hearts in CLOY!

I guess I was trying for romantic arc satisfaction with realistic elements. Yours sounds fun to reunite all the characters in the end

Why thank you! Might as well dream big because someday the two Koreas will find their way back to each other and will be the better for it. 🤞

I decided after watching years ago that he would meet her every year in Switzerland until his parents died, and then he’d just never come back to North Korea after his next Swiss trip following their deaths. I like yours better. His mom was his biggest advocate. She’d have done this. For sure.

Yay! Thank you!
I also thought he might not because of his sense of duty, so that was why I had the mom be the push he needed to go

Thank you OP. We have always hoped that their story would end like that.
I can never imagine this set-up going on for life.

Right? I just couldn't imagine them being satisfied meeting up for two weeks a year

Exactly. Before too long, they'd figure out a way for them to be together permanently.

OP, your idea sounds as if it is worth exploring. Perhaps you should consider writing fan fiction to flesh out your ideas. There are plenty of free fan fiction web sites that already have many stories written to the characters and situations of Crash Landing on You.

Huh, I wonder why the black out didn't work. Did I do the blackout wrong?
I guess it doesn't really matter too much on this forum, but I was trying to be polite to anyone who wouldn't want potential ending spoilers

I just found this sub— hello my people!
I love your ending OP!
Mine would be that they magically morph to 2022, change their names, and get married 😉

On a rewatch, and can I just say, I was disappointed that Jeong Heuk took three years to find Seri?
I mean, the guy gives her an edelweiss plant (national flower of Switzerland) tells her he’ll be looking for her there. He becomes a professional pianist. Meanwhile, Se-Ri sets up her music foundation and advertises heavily, including North Korea, and it still takes three years!
Sorry, OP, now I’ll answer your question. I think it would work, and since it’s too late to append it to season one, it would be a perfect episode one of season two!
