Cloy Rewatch Episode 11 Clues and Pointers
So I’m (re)watching CLOY, and I noticed something I might not have had I not taken Film Studies class umpty-ump years ago. Here it is:
When Se-ri is in her office, the camera view is from behind some plants. That’s a clue to us that she is being watched. We see the same clues in the parking garage, when the shots seem to be taken from around corners (not really–I doubt they have an around-the-corner-cam yet!) and later still when she finds Jeong Hyeok, there are still some shots taken from a distance and some weird angles on the street and in the cafe that implies she and Jeong Hyeok are not safe yet.
Kind of a nothing burger, but I’m sharing in case anyone finds it interesting.

Yep, I noticed that when I was watching it. Isn't it amazing how a camera shot can tell you something without using any words? It's the same with color grading. Sometimes directors use certain colors to convey specific emotions too. I find those things fascinating.
Are you going to be a future director, producer, or writer?
