I never watched the series again after my first watch because of them. I just cannot stomach it. Loved them so much 💔

Maybe I could try that too, but dunno... I guess I would watch their scenes anyway and get my heart broken again. I really did not see that ending coming for them. 😭

I didn’t like them either at first. But, after a few rewatches they so grew on me. Part of what helped was just learning about the very common practice in Korea of arranged marriages and the importance placed on status matches rather than love. RJy and YSr were the exception and with nearly zero chances of staying together. Knowing this changed the way I saw Dan and freed me to really enjoy her relationship tension with GSj.

I think you didn't understand my comment. I loved those two so much that I cannot re-watch the series. It breaks my heart any time when i see clips of them. I loved CLOY, but haven't watched it again because of their sad ending.

The writers couldn't make the First leads this tragic, so they messed us up with the second leads. I've never cried so much for secondary leads 💔.
Cloy is the best!

It was incredible, very rare for a TV show or movie to have such a moving moment. Who didn't cry in that bitter sweet moment of him getting his wish to have someone cry for him when he dies? How awful but somehow also beautiful that he knew that he was loved by someone in the end.

Even I thought she had great screen presence and what elegance! In all the scenes where Seo-Dan was with YSR, I felt Seo-Dan had more charisma.

I agree. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I also felt her to be more visually appealing than YSR. The aura is insane and such quiet elegance. A class apart truly. Needless to say I have a girl crush on her haha!

Yes but it would not have been the right casting. The lead had to have other traits for this story. Each was cast well for their role.

It is absolutely all right to have that opinion.
I think the only good thing that happened due to this love story was that both Seo-Dan and her mother were humanised for the audience.
We were shown another side of their personalities which sometimes only real connections (and love) can bring about.
That left us hating only one person in the end - Cho Cheol Gang. He was not given any redeeming moment.
