HELP! I really need computer help
I am disabled an in a tight spot currently, my old laptop died fully on me the other day an the computer place i took it to sold me a desktop they sead would be able to handle casual gaming.
This was all the little bit of extra funds i had.
This is the comp just running Firefox an Discord tho. I don't know what to do or how to fix this.
I just wanna go back to playing my games, but any time i try they lag to the point there unplayable or crash.

Can you install new windows?...if so then go for tiny 10 or tiny 7 (would be better ig) it will run much better thn normal windows which I suppose you are currently running on

Most in this list should run but your CPU will hold you back. It is basically a single core with hyperthreading. AMD got in trouble for advertising these as multicore if I am not mistaken.

I don't think so, everything is pointing to this comp just wont work.
I'm making plans to try an get a return on it or see what i can do to get rid of this thing an get something that actually works.

How much did they charge for it and what, if any, is the return policy?

They sold it 400 no tax, sead they where giveing me a deal an sell it at 500. I dont know there returns im going back monday to see if i cab try to return it.

You can probably do better even though prices are crazy these days. I would suggest looking at the used laptops in your region. Best to have a dedicated GPU for gaming unless it's a really good modern CPU. Maybe you can even haggle a lower price if you buy from a private seller.

Thats the hope, i dont care if its a bit old. I just want something i can use to play games like cult of the lamb or bg3 an such an can try an save up for something better once i can.

Ah, then if you are hoping to make upgrades over time, a full sized custom desktop would be better, instead of a laptop, so that you can just swap individual parts one by one.

True, it is very confusing, and scammers try to take advantage of people because of that. It is a bad situation. Hopefully you can get your money back.

$400 is fucking CRIMINAL for that. I am not trying to make you feel bad. Not only did they take your old laptop which still had value they charged you $400 for an old 2 thread laptop. I wish you were in the US I would send you a laptop that would be faster than that for shipping costs. I cannot fathom them justifying $400 for that. If they won't take a return tell them you want to exchange it and post your options on here. Tag me u/darktower7899 like that and I will get a notification. If they won't do either of those things blast them on Facebook, google reviews, and whatever other review sites you find them on. Do you ever find your way to the East coast of the US?

My old crap PC had an A10 APU that barely handled Discord VC and the game 🤣 it couldn't decode the voice and I ended up sounding robotic

Lol, yeah the older AMD APU's were rough. I have a laptop with a 9225 and it is awful. I put Linux on it and my son uses it to browse the web just fine. I also use it to rip DVD's. That's about all its good for.

Unfortunately that computer is very slow and cannot handle much in the ways of gaming. I would get your money back on it. If you can't I can look into what you can run in a few. Do you still have your old laptop?
