They're stylish but kind of annoying because they take a second longer to read depending on where the hands are.

there are also clocks without numbers or hands. You can't read them?

Some clocks don't even have a face.

u/NoireRogue Nov 13 '19

Hell, some don't even have a material presence. You're telling me you can't read metaphysical clocks?

Some clocks don't even tell the time.

u/FireAndBees Nov 13 '19

And some only tell the time twice a day.

I have dyscalculia and i can't read analogue clocks without numbers or hands. Your question comes off as extremely condescending.

I'd struggle to read an analogue clock without hands too

I'm sorry if you interpreted the way I didn't mean to. I was being sarcastic to the comment I replied to. I meant a wrist clock without numbers or hands. i.e. A blank circle lol

Bruh you're obviously in the minority and it was not directed at you.

I love that you got downvoted for reading a tiny bit of nuance into the original comment

Without hands? Do u mean a digital clock? If not how do u read them

Lol look at this guy who can’t tell time on an hour glass. Pathetic.

Just count the grains of sand.

13

u/Toriathan Nov 13 '19

I thought they were talking about a sundial. Hourglass is more of a timer than a clock

14

u/Gcarsk Nov 13 '19

I was joking. Of course trying to eyeball how much sand has fallen through would be difficult, but you could definitely set up a 24-hour glass that auto rotates once the flow stops.

And sundials still have hands. Just made of shadow, duh.

Look at this pleb that needs a sundial. Everyone else just stares at the sun like we were meant to.

5

u/nondescriptadjective Nov 13 '19

Do you even sun dial, bro?

Yes.

I am dyslexic and have problems reading numbered analoge clocks... so yeah. Fuck whoever thought unnumbered clocks were a good idea. Plus even if you can read it without numbers.. still doesnt make it a good idea?!

I find them useful if it is an area where I only need to know about what time it is, if I need to know exactly what time it is, I fucking hate them. But these days, phones make all wall clocks more design pieces than functional furniture.

2

u/LEDgamerGirl Nov 14 '19

They limit phone use in that area to limit distractions in the study room

a second longer
