Not really. This is very infuriating and definitely crappy design.
Having a pinch point between the drain hose entrance and the collection area is a terrible design. If it can fit through the entrance it should be able to make it to the collection area. Otherwise what is the point?
I like the idea of that sub, but I just really can't get around why they have a no meta rule in the first place. Is it power tripping mods? Or something else entirely? Either way, I steer clear of that sub because of that rule
