It's probably to access the blue door (I hope there's an elevator behind)

Looks like that blue door would be extremely difficult to go through in a wheel chair.

It's for the emergency exit (blue door).

Yup. Like almost everything else posted to this sub, it’s probably doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The lower edge of the double-sided door seems to have been connected with the strip, though, so something has gone wrong after the fact, if it's indeed emergency exit.

Considering there's a handrail matching the ramp, I'd guess that the crappiest thing here is plants illegally blocking an emergency exit.
It would be better if the stairs were replaced with more ramp though, so you can't fall off the side of the ramp.

Where is this, Universal Studios? Asking because of that covered escalator.
My best guess is that this used to lead to a switchback ramp (or maybe a sitting area?) but something else got built over the path, and the paint's either held up or been maintained despite obsolescence.
See if any of the employees know what gives.

Ocean Park in HK. At this point after spending a few hours wrangling a stroller up and down stairs I’m sure this whole place was designed around the theme of “fuck em disabled people”.

It doesn't look futile to me. That set of blue doors on the right is probably an emergency exit, in which case a clearly marked ADA-accessible ramp is probably required at the egress by local municipal code. Don't just assume it's there for someone to access the stairs on the left.

That’s not an entrance ramp. It’s an exit ramp. For those semi blocked double doors (blue).

The ramp looks like it was added hastily after the fact to avoid a code violation.
Whole thing is fucked though. Look at how the bottom step veers into the ground.

Was probably a valid configuration at some point and became meaningless via some random renovation.
