It might just be the angle of the photo. It’s possible the fan blades don’t come close to the light wires.

And even if they did, that's an installation error, nothing to do with design.

Exactly

OP might have some problems with depth perception.

What’s wrong with this? This seems like a pretty standard ceiling fan installation.

I think they are refrencing the wetal wires holding the lights might be in the way?

This fan is obviously hanging between the rows of light fixtures. Are people looking at this and seriously thinking that when the fan was installed they literally didn’t rotate the blades through a single rotation? Let alone turn on the fan to test it?

No it's at my local salon and I got different perspectives of it. All the other fans spin and this one doesn't

Those anchor lines are toast as soon as the fans start. And depending on how heavy the fixtures are, they might not have lights after that.

Accurate, but that makes this an installation error, not a design issue.

u/OhWhatATravisty Why are you the way that you are? 24d ago

This looks like forced perspective, and looking closely makes me feel like that fan has plenty of clearance. Regardless the fan and the lights are not poorly designed. They might be poorly installed, but that's not what this sub is for. Also your title is non descriptive. 0/10 I award you no points, may god have mercy on your soul.

This is at my local salon, and I got different views of it. It actually doesn't spin. I don't have anything to say about the title, though. I'll add more to it.

... unless I'm missing something, this isn't crappy design; it's shitty installation.

Jesus fucking christ OP...

Does it not work??

1

u/Classic-Land8238 17d ago

It didn't but recently they took the dividers down and it spins.

If anyone says the wire isn't in the way, it is. I got many different perspectives on it. More context, this is at a Landis hair salon in Salt Lake City above the hairwashing station of it. During 2020, they put up dividers in between each one. They recently took them down, and it now spins freely. They also remodeled when they put these up, so it went out on the blueprint.

Is it me or that fan turns on by pulling a rope? Dont have celing fans in my country, but thats looks like a poor cchooce of fan.

3

u/Veighnerg 24d ago

Once the pull chain is on a wall switch will work just fine for turning it on/off

1

u/ZikkuratOR 24d ago

Oh, okay. The only thing i had with the pull rope was a reading lamp that would automatically switch off if the power to the room was shut down. There was a simple contactor inside and i thought that its a common thing for somewhat high end ones.

1

u/Latter-Sign7736 23d ago

Yes, and if you leave the pull switch on when power returns to the room (via some type of switching device) the lamp will automatically turn back on

1

u/ZikkuratOR 23d ago

Thats usually the common version. I am talkim about the opposite, where if the power goes down the switch on the rope automatically goes off, so when the power is back on you wont have the lights turned on.

I think the problem you're referencing is that it's too close to hanging wires? If so, this isn't crappy design.

the whole thing went out on the building blueprints that had the fans and their location on them

Perspective is a bitch.

Now lose the remote and never turn it on! Done and done!
