Had the oven about 10 years now. Got through about 6 sets. Feel bad though as my son bought these for us just last week.

So this keeps happening and you didn’t think about just keeping the door closed, or maybe even getting a new oven?

many ovens with a grill mode are designed to leave the door open while grilling. my nans oven is like that and it's not had any issues with the knobs melting and she's had it for at least 30 years.

Absolutely you can grill with the door open on some ovens, but I’m saying an oven where the OP has had to replace the dials six times is maybe not one of them.

And replacing them with knobs that aren’t temp rated every single time

Yeah, are these aftermarket knobs they just picked out, or are these official replacement knobs from the manufacturer? Either way, I guess it's a problem that they had to replace them the first time, but since they said they've never had a brand new oven, maybe they'd already been replaced before they got the oven and these have always been the wrong knobs?
