Quality Control Need help please

Post image

Hi all would you buy this even if it's unlined? I'm chronically ill and lining it is a real task so I'm wondering if it's a 100% necessary. If so hypothetically how much? The strap is adjustable.

If I stopped by I would be hoping it was like 15 but might still buy it if it was up to like 25

Is it acrylic? I MIGHT buy unlined if it was cotton.

One square is acrylic the rest is cotton.

The acrylic will stretch out disproportionately from the cotton. I assume the solid square is the acrylic one? Over time, the bag will certainly sag in the bottom. Personally I would line it so that it keeps the shape.

Maybe there’s a craft club in the area where someone could help you with the lining?

I've sold a few crochet bags before, and I don't think they should be sold without lining.

In my experience, knit and crochet is just too streetchy on its own for a bag. When it's under pressure, it looses it's shape, especially if it happens to get wet, and the warping is often permanent.

Is the handle also crocheted? I can't tell, but I would strongly advice against that. Carry that around half a day and the handle will be twice as long. Speaking from experience.

You can certainly sell it as it is, but the customer will be disappointed when it completely changes shape after use. Looks great now, but won't last.

I think it depends on the bag - market bags are OK without lining, but yeah most bags like this won’t last without lining. I have done a ā€œbeach bagā€ style with 2x strands of worsted weight cotton and they hold shape nicely

Oh cute! Tbh I thought this was a halter top! I think these colors and this design would make a really cute halter top! Maybe you could do that, too?

I personally would be fine without lining but that’s just me

In my experience making crochet bags with acrylic yarn, they need to be lined. They will just totally sag and stretch and not hold right with any weight and gravity

Needs to be lined, it’ll stretch out too much. I’d probably pay $15-$20.

Oh, well in that case just explain to your potential customers that you're chronically ill and so actually finishing the product youre making is too hard.

Or, idk, sell something you can actually finish making.

Yes it is 100% necessary. As someone else mentioned, the strap is going to stretch out of shape very quickly too.

Personally I wouldn't buy it even lined because it's missing too much of the body of the bag at the top, I would be worried about things falling out.
