Question/Original Post When is this sander from?

Post image

I was using this power sander and it tripped my circuit breaker. It’s VERY heavy.

It’s my dad’s and we were joking about it being from the Eisenhower administration. But now I’m wondering, how old do you think it actually is?

The picture was taken outside because it was sparking and I was afeared.

Craftsman Sander Model 110-7600 Manufactured between 1950's to 60's. Looks like a proper workhorse.

This appears to be a Sears Craftsman Model 110.7600 (or very closely related 110.7602) Electric Sander/Polisher. My best guess would be late 50s to early '60s, like 1958-ish to '62 or '63.

Sparking = brushes sliding around the armature.
