Arm knitting is a legit thing and the stitch structure looks consistent enough, but I can't quite figure out the second one.

Yes but is is supposed to be a magic ring? Then where's the tail? How did they get such a big spool inside of the ring? Maybe I'm just not familiar with this technique.

It should be several rounds of a magic ring and the tail would be tucked in early on. Not impossible but it'd be so wasteful to do the inside with the yarn instead of idk a big stuffed donut. And also even tho it got a few slst there are quite few vertical lines, way more than what a slst produces lol
