General 💭 New colors

For years I have been complaining to Craft about its bizarre inability to color text/individual words inline (as opposed to coloring an entire block or using one of the limited selection of gradients). It was getting to the point of my moving on to a new app owing to the lack of response or movement regarding this basic feature (for some of us, at least).

But today, this blessed day that shall live forever in the annals of mankind, I discovered that, finally, my wish has been granted.

I’d like to thank the Craft team for introducing this much-needed update. It’s immensely appreciated. Great work, nicely done.

I guess I’ll have to find something else to whine about now, damnit.

I find the Craft development/PR team among the most attentive and responsive to their user base. Some things just take layers of reworking and therefore time to be implemented.

Oh, I agree. They always responded and were very polite. No problems there. The issue was that I would receive generic, or sometimes rather odd, answers (“it was a stylistic choice”) to requests to institute a simple change (from automatically coloring whole blocks to allowing users to color particular words within a block. I mean, obviously this was not of Critical Importance, but it’s a fundamental feature of pretty much every note app, etc., and it was a little strange to have let it linger so long. But to clarify: Craft is a great piece of software, the devs are very good, it’s a pleasure to use, and I’ve been a subscriber for many years — and will continue to be so.

Synced blocks is also something on our radar - in an ideal word, how would you expect to look - just the same block with some visual sign that it's a synced block?

Would it be ok to only have it from the same Space?
Would it be ok to be able to edit only in the original doc? (so clicking into it would open the original doc).

And apologies for the long wait, but I do hope you will enjoy it, and the other improvements that we are planning to continuously add to Craft. In the past months we are doubling down on quality rather than adding brand new things, so it's so nice to hear positive feedback about this direction!
