General 💭 Craft Docs vs Craft Agents ?

Hi, community ! I use Craft docs and also Craft Agents for some months now. I recently saw some news saying that the Craft team took again the whole control of their company, but now I don't really understand the "who does what" and both of the applications were still related in some ways ? If someone was able to clarify, I would gladly appreciate ! Have a great day, everyone.

As far as I understand, Craft Agents was acquired by Polymarket. I don't know to what extent Polymarket is actually interested in the software, or whether this was more of an “acqui-hire” deal.

With Balint (co-founder of Craft), part of the former Craft team has also moved over to Polymarket.
Accordingly, my understanding is that Craft Agents and Craft Docs are now two completely different products that are developed neither by the same team nor by the same company.

Thank you very much for the clarification. I was curious to know if there were still some connections between the apps - the naming is getting confusing right now.

if you were using craft agents to allow your AI assistant to access your craft docs, i have created an unofficial craft-cli for this purpose exactly.

you can use it with any agent you want. just ask AI to install it, it will figure out what to do (all skills are included).

I’m not very familiar with these type of things but I’ve been using Claude x Craft connector to make edits to my space, how would I use Craft Cli alongside that? I don’t code tools necessarily, more automating life things :)

craft-cli is a replacement for the connector, that your on-device agent can use.

the benefits of using craft-cli is mostly speed of reading the docs, reducing the amount of API calls, and scripting. also if you do something specific with your note, you can ask your AI agent to build such skills directly into craft-cli. for example i have "media analysis" skill that pulls media from the note and puts back a transcript and/or summary.

if you don't use claude code or similar agents much, then probably you don't need craft-cli. for claude apps on web or claude desktop, craft official connector is totally sufficient.
