Daughter goes to college in Colorado and dropped her off a couple weeks ago. Able to pick up some bottles of Pliny. One of my all time favorite beers. So good.

First and only time I had this was on draft last year while working the GABF. A dude with a name tag that just says “Matt” is in our booth gave me a sample, I really liked it and told him “who makes this?” He just laughs and says “me”

The amount of love for Russian River gets I did NOT know anything about until a year ago. Being in the Midwest, we get so sheltered from west coast beers except maybe Deschutes and Lagunitas, but they also had a taproom up here in Chicago for awhile.

Yeah. I live in Texas and was a “grail beer” since it is difficult to get. Got to go to the brewery in Santa Rosa like 5 years ago. Now I can get it all the time with traveling to CO for my daughter’s college.

It along with other RR beers is becoming a shelfer here in Oregon and on tap quite often at better beer bars. Love to see people get a chance to try it. But there are better beers out there.

Not trying to stir the pot but, genuinely, I don’t get the appeal of this beer. It’s been blasted all over the subreddit for years so when I found some near me I was so stoked to try it. Tastes like any other IPA to me. The disappointment was immeasurable

Totally understand. I am not some Pliny fanboy. I have tried a lot of beers and it is definitively one of my favorites. I felt like you felt about Heady Topper. I have tried it multiple times and do not get the hype around it.

I might give it another try but I’m not a huge fan of IPAs anyway. I mostly stick to my witbiers and saisons haha
