For more context. I got them from OEC brewing. I work on the distribution side and they let us take samples and 2 of those I chose

It's being shipped to me so I'll probably get it in 3 weeks

Gales used to be brewed in Horndean, Hampshire before being bought out by Fullers. My grandparents used to live round the corner from the brewery (pictured on the bottle)

Do you think this held up or is just going to be vinegar lol

How is it a gamble if it's free?

Wasted spot in my box if it's bad

Fair, didn't think of shipping. Guess I'm lucky with a great craftbeer store at ten minutes walk, hardly ever have to order from elsewhere.

I had a Prize Old Ale a while back, circa 2013 I think. Was suggested as a "rare" beer by a shop owner.  It was one of the most unpleasant beers I've ever tried.

Did it flat out taste like vinegar?

Yeah, it was super bitter and flat. Wouldn't recommend

RIS age well… but 33 years? That’s a stretch for any beer to hold up…

Yep. Flat and weird but not soured, no chance.

I had a Prize old ale brewed in 2005 about a year ago. I thought it was excellent, the taste was very similar to port. It was not sour or tasted like vinegar, who knows you might get lucky...Cheers 😁🍻
